hello,

i was curious I have refractory rls and even buphenorphine and Methadone don’t do much it’s so strange my body hates me lol

Has anyone taken opiates and had them not to much for u?

it’s so weird how some people it saves their life some people can’t handle side effects and others it does nothing for.

can someone open my skull and dump a few loads of dopamine and iron in my head please ? Maybe it would help lol

Just looking for anyones thoughts where stony opioids didn’t do much

thanks 😊

I'm so sorry the methadone hasn't worked.Have you tried the other opioids? Tramadol, Oxycontin? We all react differently to different opioids. Oxycontin didn't work for me but Buprenorphine did. Oxycontin works well for many. Maybe your opioid receptors would respond better to different opioids.

Did you get any further on an Injectafer infusion to see if raising serum ferritin above 300 would make a difference? And how is reducing the Omperazole going?

It is incredibly frustrating not to be able to point you in the right direction.

It must be much more frustrating for you.

I tried so many things over the years, including 12 months on a strict paleo diet, 6 months on Low Fodmaps diet, 9 months on a vegan diet and realised diet was not the cause of my RLS.

However, it does definitely trigger many people's RLS so perhaps it may be an idea to try one of the RLS diets for 2 months to see if it makes a difference.

I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.

It’s alright Jools it’s not your fault lol yeah i might do the diet for the hell of it. and I never get an infusion my doctor is a specialist on the rls board but he feels with where my ferritin was I don’t need it I might look into Pittsburgh I’m in New York they just opened an rls center but realistically they are all the same lol

I also had trouble with just taking an opioid which for me is 10mg of methadone. I had tried everything and was at my wits end. I even went up to 20 mg to see if it would help and still didn't work. My Dr. added an RX for Trazodone which is a sleep aid (50 mg) and that has done the trick for me. I take my methadone about 3 hours before bed and then the Trazodone about 30 minutes before bed and I am usually out like a light. I am very lucky and fear this will eventually not work for me but going strong for a couple years now with no issues. Good luck as I feel your pain.

Sorry that you are not getting any relief from the King Daddy RLS meds! As was mentioned by Joolsg we all react differently to medications and techniques. Have you tried all of the opioids recommended for RLS? I took oxycodone for approximately one year. It worked at the start but then it wasn’t very effective. 2 months ago I started Methadone and on most nights it works. 🤞🏼I hope that you find the medication that works for you!

I am on morphine for horrible backache, I have 8 fractures in my spine caused by osteoporosis. Morphine I have found is absolutely useless and doesn't really seem to help. I going to reduce it gradually eventually stopping it altogether. I experience no side effects which surprises me as I am quite sensitive to medication. So I agree with you totally. I do hope this is helpful to you. I dunno what I will do in the future re my backache perhaps I will get a new one. 😀😐🤣🤣👍

I take Targum 10/5mg for the last three years it’s an opioid plus some lyrics works great for 80 %

Does it have a generic name ? I can’t find it lol

in reply toRC723

It looks like Aetje is referring to Targin. And also Lyrica.

Hi im not sure of your dose or how long you have been taking methadone but it takes a short time for methadone to reach a peak in your body also with mine it takes about 25 to 30 minutes to actually feel the effects and a low dose will wear off best to take your dose as close to bedtime as possible and a hot drink helps to get it going, That is what I feel not sure if everyones experience is the same. Another thing if you feel its not doing anything try missing a dose for as long as possible to see if you start feeling any uncomfortable effects then take your normal dose just to see if you feel any difference hope you find something that helps.
