I'm curious about your appetite. Does anyone experience having 'no appetite' and if so, what do you do to encourage food intake?
For the past two years or so, I've had a very low appetite and don't always eat meals, as I should. I've heard that with PBC it's better to eat small meals throughout the day to help support better digestion. Even so, there are many days when I don't have enough caloric intake to support my output

Black Country half-marathon
As I blogged yesterday, today was the BIG day that I ran my first half-marathon - even more exciting because I have twice before starting training for a half-marathon and both times had to pull out due to injury. Yesterday morning I woke up with horribly painful back-ache and spent the morning shuffling

Morning diarrhoea - I don't think I am over-medicated. Could it be sensitivity to the thyroxine or the fillers?
I was diagnosed hypothyroid April 2012 and started on 25mcg levothyroxine. Dosage gradually increased and have now been on 100mcg for just over two weeks. I've become aware that diarrhoea in the mornings has become a problem, to the extent that I am reluctant to go out in the mornings. By after lunch

Has anyone else had DBS and want to talk?
I underwent the 2 stage op in NZ in November 2012 and February 2013. Keen to talk to anyone who has been through this and can offer advice around living with DBS and what that means. Thanks (Not so) ShakingAJ

Anyone have similar symptoms or advice.
Hello all. I was diagnosed with IBS about 5 years ago based on symptoms alone, no tests given just an ultrasound and bloods. I suspect it was triggered by a diet which turned into anorexia or a hysterectomy. I have usually had both IBSc and IBSd, both pretty much as bad as each other.

Is weight gain a Side effect of Madopar?
I was diagnosed with PD 8 years ago and was taking most recently Stalevo & Sifrol to control it thinking at the time Sifrol was doing me more harm than good. Last August I had DBS but still wound up on Sifrol And Sinemet. After a few months it was finally decided that I should wean myself off sifrol

Race for Life - the day of reckoning
I'd lost my running mojo a bit lately - in fact, since I finished the 5x50 challenge mid-May. That was to do 30 minutes exercise every day, which I managed, and enjoyed. I signed up for the Juneathon challenge to try and keep the momentum going, but it didn't really work. Warmer weather

How gluten free does a non coeliac gluten free diet have to be?
If I do a gluten free diet for my fat tum as I am not coeliac, how strict do I have to be to hopefully get some decent results? Obviously I would eliminate the obvious things but what about, for example, ready made things ie.cup of soup, that have a smidgen of cornflower? How have others of you managed

I have been on a gluten free diet for over 3 years now. Do I need to be eating gluten if I am to be tested for Hashimotos?
I have just found out my nan has this disease.

Strict Gluten Free Diet?
Can someone please explain what the term "Strict Gluten Free Diet means". If it means you comply with the recognised gluten free diet then you are ingesting small amounts of gluten. I am personally "Free of Gluten" (FOG). Even the smallest amount of gluten from derivatives has a very laxative effect

DBS plans on hold due to possible nocebo effects... I'm too crazy for brain surgery.
I have recently been processed with off-on testing and neuro-psychologist eval for DBS. My neurologist stated that I need to see a psychiatrist before they will schedule the procedure due to my anxiety depression issues fearing that I may be disappointed by the outcome. She further related that my
