Deep Brain Surgery for R.L.S.
Do any of the administrators or members know if Doctors are considering D.B.S yet for R.L.S? I bullied my Doctor into giving me a referral 12 mths ago but at the time it was thought that there was not enough information regarding the part of the brain to be worked on and a bit risky if it would work

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN), good, bad or useless?
I know it has been asked before but has anyone got experiences with LDN (Low dose naltrexone)? I know it's a controversial subject but I would like to try to take LDN and see if I can titrate down the amount of stalevo I need. I currently take Stalevo (3x125 + 5x100), Azilect and Amantadine (3x100mg

I have had Parkinson's for 14 years and take SInamet 7-8 times a day, Mirapex, and amantadine,I have never had a tremor or balance issue. My main symptoms are stiffness of neck , shoulders, fatigue, illegible handwriting and clumsiness, and panic attacks. I wonder if DBS would help these symptoms

Car accident after DBS surgery
I had a very successful DBS surgery in June. Most if my dysekinesia disappeared. The rigidity subsided and I was moving much better. My face no longer had that Parkie look. I still had my meds but not as much. Then came Jan 16, 2013. My wife was driving a 2997 Geo Metro and hit an SUV that pulled out

Just one of those days
I feel like every time I take one step forward, it's really two steps backwards. I'm so confused with my thoughts and emotions. I'm physically and emotionally exhausted. Is it my Parkinson's, my meds, lack of sufficient sleep, hormones (i am only 39). I need answers but feel the medical community

What are the main signs, symptoms and tests for malnutrition?
I am gluten sensitive, but somehow doubt that I will get a coeliac diagnosis. I'm sero-negative for TTG, but eventually got sent for an endoscopy anyway - the results aren't in yet. The gastroenterologist asked me what my main concern was and I didn't think of it until later on. I'm worried about

Feeling ghastly - Iron?
Hi everyone I have struggled to get my iron/ferritin up over the past year and latest bloods showed iron 9 (6 - 26) which no one seems worried about as it's in range, Ferritin is 45 ( 39 - 150) . However, the trend since last March when I first got bloods was for my Mean Cell Volume and MCH to keep

Clear Point Surgery
My Dr's at a major hospital where I was approved for DBS surgery last fall called to see when I wanted to schedule the surgery. After explaining the research we've done on why I want the Clearpoint Surgery ~ it takes half the time of DBS, half the cost of DBS, less invasive, and you are asleep for

Newbie - Should I be considering supplements?
Hi. After months of feeling rubbish I finally got a diagnosis of under active thyroid yesterday and have started on 50 mcg of Levothyroxine today. My GP didn't mention any additional blood testing for vitamin deficiencies. Is this something I should be requesting? Should I be considering taking additional
