Surgery is behind me
I had a
cystectomy
and prostatectomy (along with assorted other bits a parts), last Tuesday. Surgery took over 10 hours and was all done robotically. I came home yesterday and am learning to live with a "bag".

PET scan for lesion
Has anyone had a PET scan for bone lesions? I had a CT and then MRI in preparation for my DEIP flap reconstruction 2 years post mastectomy. They found a "lesion" on my L2 vertebrate. I'm trying not to worry but it's hard not to x

delayed reconstruction options
I had a single mastectomy at the end of May and wasn't offered a reconstruction at the time as it was thought that I would need radiotherapy. The tumors were found to be very small and low grade so I haven't needed any chemo or radiotherapy (just Tamoxifen). I have an appointment next week to meet

Expander reconstruction
Hi all. After chemo, I had a mastectomy and an expander reconstruction in Feb this year, followed by 3 weeks of radiotherapy. So now, 6 months later, my reconstruction is still rock hard. The skin around it is getting softer but, is this how it will always be, so hard?? I haven't had it expanded anymore

Help!
Hello all, 2 weeks ago i had a laparoscopy,
cystectomy
and hystoscopy, I was told the cyst ruptured whilst being removed. I was also told when I came round that the endometreosis has stuck my bowel an bladder. I was told I will have to have "definitive" surgery to treat that.

How do i stop feeling confused and despaired
Two gyneas suggested an ovarian
cystectomy
while two others said the laparoscopy doesn't always guarantee it would not recur so they prefer i look at the medical approach first rather than surgical.

Hi there, I have not had reconstruction as was not suitable at the time. My surgery was 8 months ago and healed very well, did have a bit of a seroma (one side mastectomy and lymph clearance). Good movement so discharged from physio but I ache in the surgery area. I cannot lie on it, on my side or

Ready for Surgery, Need Advice
I was disagnosed with stage 2, muscle invasive bladder cancer, N-0, M-0 in April. Two MRIs showed no cancer outside the bladder. After 6 sessions of chemotherapy, my oncologist has determined it is time to remove the bladder (along with prostate and lymph nodes). Since I'm age 70, he's concerned about

BrCA Positive and New to This...
Hi there. I've recently been diagnosed with the BrCA gene (for those who are unsure, Angeline Jolie had this. In a nutshell, I will most likely have cancer in my lifetime occurring in my breasts/ovaries, and so measures such as mastectomy and oophorectomy are very common). IVF has been recommended to
