Bruising and cortisone
I have had PMR for about four years and am on 4mg of prednisolone. I am doing well apart from niggles with my Achillies tendons and one knee. I go walking twice a week and have come up with a new symptom, severe bruising on the inside of one of my ankles after walking. My Achillies tendons are OK and

For those who don't want to see my lumpy foot - look away now
I've been doing a little Googleing, I think what I have is Bursitis, it doesn't really show up here in the photo, but It doesn't actually sound too serious - ice, anti inflammatories,
cortisone
injections etc...I hope I'll be back in the saddle so to speak soon.... Next up Dan's groin...

How much does blood sugar levels affect cortisol?
I'm wondering if my diet is affecting the way I feel. I've not been eating great lately and not really having regular meals. Yesterday for instance I just snacked on sugary things. I felt irritable and snappy all day. Things bothered me! Then when hubby came home he drove me mad and we had a row. I just

Interpreting results - adrenals
Hi everyone, I've had such great advice here in the past, and have just got a set of results that I have no idea how to interpret. So really hope anyone here can shed some light or suggest starting points for me to read up. I've had thyroid cancer and a total thyroidectomy (the long story in my profile

Tricky stuff this Armour
Since starting armour last November it's been far from smooth sailing. I am currently on 1.5 grains split into two doses. I take the first dose according to CT3M as although my morning cortisol level is fine I have low cortisol in the day and also low DHEA/cortisol ratio (according to my 24 hr saliva

Short synacthen test
Hi all I know blood cortisol isn't accurate however I'm a bit concerned about the results from my latest test. Normally in the morning my blood cot idol has been measured between 200-400mmol. My baseline blood cortisol when I had the test was 635mml (120-800) and it shot up to 872mmol half an hour after

Going on prednisone! I was placed on 15mg of prednisone and within days felt wonderful!
However, within a week or two, my own ability to make
cortisone
was reduced, so I did not have this as extra. I started to have my symptoms back but my GP was adamant that, because I had said I was so much better, she could not imagine that the dosage was not sufficient. So beware.

Undiagnosed Wrist/forearm/shoulder/neck pain at 23 years old?
The specialist mentioned that i could have Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, i had 2 injections of
cortisone
and that did help. The pain in my wrist came back and i was sent for a EMG nerve test, the results were negative and the specialist advised that he was not sure what was wrong with me.

Hypothyroid, Low Cortisol & Adrenal Synacthen Stress Test?
Blimey! Went for my follow up after bloods & endo has said she can't even consider treating me with any thyroid meds till she's sorted out my Cortisol issue 144 (171-536 range) & Vitamin D. She said she's far more worried about that than my thyroid results: TSH 4.17 (0.27 - 4.2) FT4 17.7 (12 - 22)

How do you know if you have low or high cortisol?
Hi All, I recently had to quit taking levothyroxine due to severe side effects, the worst of which were suicidal tendencies. Its now 5 days without any meds, but I would like to take NDT as I most definitely have hypothyroidism. However, I am concerned that I have underlying adrenal issues which I read

Feels like elephant sitting on my chest! Advice appreciated.
Hi everyone, thanks for advice on earlier posts. At present taking 50mcg of levo and 10 mcg of T3 divided into two doses. Was originally on 75 mcg of thyroxine only. Have been having trouble introducing the t3 , even at low dose seems to make heart pound. Had hoped to rectify this by reducing the t4
