Over-medicated or Having Low Cortisol on Thyroid-S?
I just started taking Thyroid-S after being hypothyroid for two months from a bad batch of NDT. Maybe I need to give Thyroid-S more time, or maybe I need to treat the adrenals first, but I thought I'd share my experience on it so far when I take 2.5 Grains. I used to take 2.5 Grains of WP, Nature-Throid

Low Cortisol - Synacthen Blood Test
Hello, With the above test (I am due to have next week) does it need to be taken first thing in the morning? I have previously had two standard blood tests at 9.00 am which has highlighted a low cortisol reading and so a follow-up synacthen test is now being taken by the GP practice. My appointment

Cortisone for pinched sciatic nerve
Pinched sciatic nerve scheduled for
cortisone
shot. Oncologist ordered MRI as psa has ticked up from .016 to .081 in last 6 months. Should I be concerned? What are options?

Hip problems from Pred?
Someone said that artritis can start after
cortisone
treatment? Maybe somebody in here knows more? I have artritis in my family but my physiotherapist thinks I am to young for that.

Crazy high saliva cortisol results
I just got my saliva cortisol test results, and I'm surprised to say the least....I was expecting to see low cortisol, as last time I was tested I was super low (admittedly that was 3 years ago!) But I am well above the range at all 4 times! I'm off the top of the chart for the 2 morning readings. Could

Thyroid med increase and adrenal impact
Hi, 2 weeks ago I had an increase in my thyroid medications. I was on 5mcg T3 twice a day and 75mcg Levothyroxine. Increased to 5mcg T3 three times a day and remain on 75mcg Levothyroxine The reason for my increase is that 4 weeks ago I decided to join a local gym to get fitter as last year I was housebound

Walking distances with Myositis
Cortisone
starts everything up again & moving throughout the day keeps everything to a certain extent, ticking over. Next week I see a rheumatologist for first time. I guess a diagnosis will come.

Would like input from people who have tried Saxenda (especially people with hypothyroidism)
Nine months ago, I was put on high doses of
cortisone
for a short period of time (six weeks) and started gaining weight again, first slowly, then faster and faster, even after going off
cortisone
. Today, I have regained 27 of the 30 kgs lost, and nothing I do seems to matter.

Ongoing Fatigue
Having been diagnosed with AIH last April, (aged 71 and in previous good health) I have been on
cortisone
and azathropine which worked well and is gradually being reduced to a target of 5mg a day (on 10mg at the moment).

Is there a specific time during a woman’s monthly cycle when it’s better test cortisol levels or does it not matter? X

"Dry skin" and Pegasys
I've found that a shampoo combining an antifungal, Ketoconazole, with a
cortisone
to suppress the inflammation works a treat, although it must be religiously used. BTW Pegasys also aggravates psoriasis and eczema for the same reason.

Increasing activity. Do I need to increase T3 medication.
I have Hashimotos for 12 years and last year very low cortisol. I now take 5mcg Liothyronine T3 twice a day after finally being diagnosed as a poor converter, after 11 years just on Levothyroxine. Plus I now take 75mcg daily. My thyroid and cortisol are now in a good position after as I was very unwell

Further tests
Hello, I am in the process of having further tests, one of which is for low cortisol and so an ACTH test is scheduled? Is it common for such a test to be given at a GP practice as I thought this was done by the endocrinologist? Or perhaps this test is done locally for then referral (if necessary)?

Ankle fusion
I have had
cortisone
injections but they haven't worked and the next step looks like it could be fusing my bone. My mobility isn't great at the best of times so I am really unsure of what to do.

Help on T3 mono, 1st blood results
I have been on T3 mono about 12 weeks now which I slowly built up to 50mcgs T3and these were the 1st bloods, they took temp BP and pulse at same time bloods were taken, which to me they dont really add up. I had sub thyroidectomy years ago so looks like I still have some thyroid left looking at T4 I
