Ok gang , has anyone heard of this or had this done to their lower back to ease pain . Apparently it’s done lie an epidural but a laser is passed down the needle to cauterise the nerves in the back . I’m going to have it done so if any of you have back pain drop me a message and i’ll Let you know how it goes.
I’ve had the paperwork from NICE and this treatment is replacing cortisone injections . Xx

I had this procedure about 8 years ago and it worked a treat! I haven’t had the same pain back since. Unfortunately, I have developed Osteoarthritis and Polymyalgia Rheumatica since and am on steroids, so I’m not sure if they are masking any return of that pain.
I will be very interested in hearing how this goes. I have had 3 epidural steroid injections in my spine so far and waiting for another now, they only give me pain relief for about a year so anything that can improve on that is good news. I hope it all goes well for you
I’m in a group for PSA people and 2 have come back to me so far confirming its fantastic. One lost the pain totally & the other had had it numerous times over the years getting 8-12 months relief each time . 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻
Hi, my consultant gave me the NICE regulations to read and that states that cortisone injections , which is what I actually went for, are no longer being offered as they have proved too costly and not providing lengthy relief. So now the RFD is preferred treatment , providing longer lasting relief thereby less costly .
I had a cortisone injection a couple of years ago after which I had no feeling in and couldn't move my right leg for some hours. It didn't work and when I asked if it could be tried again I was told that the doctor wouldn't do it because he was "afraid of hurting" me. Is this a common experience, I wonder? Although my lower back pain has been grim for many years and this procedure sounds really good, I must confess I'm very wary of having any more injections into my spine. Any thoughts......?
I’d go visit go and ask about pain clinic referral , be prepared to wait unless you do as I did , get a private consult first then go on nhs list after.
