Update on painful wrist

Just an update in case some of you have had this type of pain and would like to know how it was resolved. I had pain in my right wrist and at it's worst, my hand was also swollen and I couldn't use it at all for about 6 weeks. I was on 4 mg Pred and didn't want to increase it. I was given a concentrated (5 day pack) dose of Pred which reduced the inflammation for about 2 days but otherwise did nothing. My doctor gave me a Cortisone shot and within 3 weeks, the inflammation was down and the pain was gone. OT (occupational therapy) and a compression glove didn't work at the time, only created more swelling. Hot and cold and raising the wrist helped but the Cortisone shot resolved it completely. On another note, I have had pain on top of my right knee for the last 4 years. I'm happy to say that with my last round of PT that has also been resolved. I'm in disbelief that my knee is pain free after all this time.

Sorry, physical therapy as we say here in the US. :) And, by the way my pain was above the knee, telling me it was tendon problem, not arthritis.
