4 instead of 3
I was told when I was last in hospital that I have 4 arteries in my heart instead of 3… anyone else had this ? Apparently it’s not mega rare but was only on 3rd visit after stent and on seeing about the 10th doctor he mentioned it !! Considering the amount of atherosclerosis in them maybe it’s

Epigastric pain
Hi all I’m getting a dull pain in my epigastric region, that’s kind of the area just below your heart in the centre. I’ve had it for sometime how and mentioned it to the cardiologist but they don’t seem bothered as it isn’t directly my heart, even thought it started after my CABG. Im starting to wonder

Stuck!- Now Surviving on an All Clear Liquid Diet.
Hey all, I just wanted to post an update on my personal Colon Cancer Stage 4 journey. Things have taken a very strange and not good turn for me. I truly am very Worried and Concerned about the refusal of local Drs. to put a Stent into my Colon -(they all say I desperately Need!), so that I can go on

Does anyone know if there is an alternative medication to Clopidogrel?
Hi all I had a stent fitted 16 May 23. As is the norm I was prescribed Clopidogrel which I cannot tolerate due to dreadful gut and bowel issues which is a nightmare. Was prescribed Lansoprazole to counteract these issues only had some minor improvement. Literally, I am afraid to eat anymore. A morsel

Minor surgery after a stent
Has anyone had experience of surgery post stent? What did you do about the daily asprin? I am due to have minor surgery on my eyelid and the Ocuplastic surgeon has written to my cardiologist . The cardiologist writes that although it was 19 months ago and I am doing well he doesn't recommend suspending

Random Tachycardia
Hi Hearties! I had 4 MIs in 2018 at the age of 38. My LAD was stented (99% blockage), I was given a boatload of meds, and sent on my way. In the years that followed, I have had countless trips back to the A&E, with the primary symptom being tachycardia, dizziness/light-headedness, and occasionally chest

CABG and beyond
Hi all. I had a triple bypass 9 months ago and went very well. The last week or so though i've been getting a bit out of breath walking sometimes ( i walk fast). Nothing major and nothing like before my bypass, but it's got me worrying i have some blockage after 9 months, with good diet and exercise.

recent heart attack
Hello everyone. I had my heart attack three weeks ago this coming Thursday-I was on my narrow boat and actually thought I was having a bizarre panic attack. Anyway to cut a longish story short my partner called an ambulance, they broke the news ‘now don’t panic Lee but you are having a heart attack’

Baseline troponin level after cabg
Dear All Just wanted to ask if anyone knows what is the baseline troponin level for someone who has done cabg say almost a year ago? I know that normally it should be less than 14. But I was told by a doctor that a cabg patient will have a normal higher elevated level? With thanks Shaivi

couldn’t fit a stent, what’s next?
Hi, in February I had a big heart attack after suffering a few in the past. I was admitted to hospital where they tried to fit another stent but couldn’t due to calcification in the LAD. I was discharged with new medication, however I’m anxious to know what’s next. Do I need bypass surgery? With

Hi. I had a mild heart attack in October 2021, one stent fitted. Follow up echocardiogram ecg in April 2022, all good, told no further appointments unless there's any problems. I am currently on Candesartan, Bisoprolol, Omeprazole, Aspirin and Rosuvastatin. No one has reviewed this since October 2022

Unstable angina symptoms after stent!
Hi all I had a stent put in yesterday and I was fine after the procedure. Woke in the night with mild angina pain but managed to fall back to sleep eventually. The pain is worse today...constant when resting. Gt spray does nothing to relieve the pain. Same with Relosorb. Just wondering if this is normal

Strictly speaking, hypothyroid?
I had reported major symptoms on a number of occasions over the years - eventually diagnosed vasospastic angina (known as
coronary
artery
spasm
at the time) - and saw a cardiologist, finally, in
2001
. My TSH and FT4 were asked for.

Ticagrelor 6 or 12 months post HA and stents
Hi Can anyone advise why the prescribing of ticagrelor differs between geographical areas, some direct 6 months and some 12 months post stent and heart attack. Is there any short concise research I could read on the rationale/ outcome for length of prescribing?
