Epigastric pain

Hi all I’m getting a dull pain in my epigastric region, that’s kind of the area just below your heart in the centre. I’ve had it for sometime how and mentioned it to the cardiologist but they don’t seem bothered as it isn’t directly my heart, even thought it started after my CABG.

Im starting to wonder if it’s the meds I take?

Bisoprolol, aspirin, clopidogrel, Atorvastatin, sertraline, esomeprazole and co-codamol when needed.

Has anyone else had the same and what was it? Im wondering if it’s an ulcer?

Thanks all

Hi Jako, It’s important that you see your GP as soon as possible about this. There are many reasons why you may be experiencing this pain and they will want to assess and examine you to try and get to the bottom of it. If you ever experiencing symptoms of a heart attack, you should call 999 immediately. I hope you feel better soon.

Try to get an appointment with your Gp to check the various drugs you are on. Co-Codamol is that codeine based?. Do you have the pain constantly? Does the weather make it worse?

Could it be gastric reflux ? Don't let it rest in case you need some changes in meds.

I’ve bought some gastric resistant Aspirin today instead of using the soluble ones the gp gives me.

I’m going to book a gp appointment and see what he says but as we all know that’s not so easy.

Thanks
