Pins and needles
I am 4 weeks post HA and stent. In the last week have been waking up in the night with pins and needles down left side. Was bad last night and took 3 hrs to get back to sleep due to resulting anxiety. Spoke to my cardiac nurse who says it's nothing to do with the drugs. She says none of them have that

A diagnosis! Yipee! Kawasaki Disease, look for calcified aneurysms! (also a question about warfarin)
Hey you lovely lot! So, some of you know that I needed a 2x CABG Jan 2022 aged 34 (very nearly my newly plumbed heart's birthday!) and every Dr/Cardiologiost that looked at my notes/history/angiograms came away scratching their heads and not understanding what had happened or why my vessels were so

Stents AFTER failed CABG
Had stents fitted on Wednesday. Got home last night after a stay in CCU overnight. I was told at the time the surgeon managed to stent all three arteries (even the fully blocked one with 2 long stents, yayy!) Now I'm home and read the discharge letter it says one balloon to one artery and stents in the

Anyone had EMDR
Hi all like so many on here we all know how our mental health suffers following the sort of cardiac problems we all have. I’ve been told a few times due to My 2 x HT and quadruple CABG all within a month and what I’ve seen at work I probably have PTSD well that’s now been confirmed and I have to say

2023 started on a downer again.
We’ll I thought after my 2 x MI and my quadruple CABG in 2022 I was hoping 2023 would be better and I’m sure it will but yesterday on the first of a new year I ended up at A and E. At least it’s not my heart at least I don’t think so, pain swelling and a lump in my groin, I think it’s an infected lymph

Thankfulness
Woke up to another grey morning, but have realised I have a lot to be thankful for. Firstly although I discovered I had a "widowmaker" blockage of the L AD, my other arteries compensated and I didn't have a heart attack. Secondly the team at Basildon who looked after me last year before and during the

Angina symptoms
Hello all, My first post here so be gentle! 😃 In October ‘21 I I had severe LAD disease which led to a myocardial infarction & a subsequent stent & all was good. In the last month I’ve been given a GTN spray only because the GP thought I had one, but I never had. I’ve also had an Echo recently,

Reason to be cheerful
Obvs a lot of people are really worried about heart diseases in this forum. TBH I sometimes share those concerns ... but in general I try to post positive reassuring posts about CHD and CAD. I'm 63 (64 in a few days) and have been really busy with a nerdy consultancy project. Quite by chance the project

Week 1
I’m a returning C25K runner, progressed really well in 2019 then ill health struck, then Covid, then last year I had to have a stent inserted. So after much procrastination I slipped into my ill fitting running gear, donned my trainers and put on some good music. I have just finished Week 1 and although

It’s gone a bit pear shaped
I posted the other day about having a stress echo, I knew it hadn’t gone well after all it lead to an angina attack. I’ve been having mild chest pains ever since my quadruple CABG last June which I thought would improve but it hasn’t. My surgeon called me today to tell me it looks like there is a problem

So fed up, after CABG worse off.
I don't know if anyone remembers me. I had a triple bypass on 16th September followed by internal bleeding, severe AF, a collapsed lung and fluid on the lung. Two days after discharge I was rushed back in to my local hospital with a saddle PE, PEs in both lungs and a clot in my heart. These had clearly

Heart Attack Journal #2
I really didn’t think I’d be back here again. After my first MI in August 2019, I really thought that the medication I was on would prevent a repeat of this. However, 3 ½ years on, it’s happened again. Seems that I’m in the small minority (less than 2%) for whom the standard medication doesn’t prevent

Perspiring profusely
Does anybody else suffer with profuse sweating and dull pain in the chest. I started my heart journey in Spain needing stents fitted one year later I was rushed into hospital again with a heart attack where one of my stents in the LAD failed and caused a blood clot. I then moved back to UK as my understanding

Is anybody still alive after 8 years of having a liver TIPPS stent fitted more than 8 years ago. I would like to know how you are feeling these days and what I can expect in the near future Thanks Jim

Breathlessness advice
I’m at nearly two years post HA (6th May 21) and one stent 😊. I’ve lost weight, fitter than I’ve been in years and eating habits have improved. I acknowledge there is still room for improvement. In the last month I have noticed that I am becoming more breathless when walking or doing jobs like gardening

Ejection fraction 41% post MI ...
I'm just under 3 weeks post STEMI - with 1 stent to the LAD. Echo' a couple of days post procedure showed EF was only 41% .... (I was a late presentation, so myocardial damage was probably greater than it otherwise might have been)... I was previously extremely fit for my age (60's) - with no risk

TIPS Stent Help
Hi I am looking to find someone who is in the same predicament as me. There must be someone out there? I had a TIPS stent fitted in 2015 for severe portal hypertension and variceal bleeding in oesophagus and stomach. Has the TIPS procedure in Liverpool but as I live in Wales, ever since, there seems

Sensation in kidney area
Hi, I had kidney stones 2 years ago, and had them removed through surgery. I had a stent fitted, which was an uncomfotable experience. The stent was removed. They removed the stones. However, in the mornings I feel a strange senstaion in my lower back area, sometimes it is like a tingling feeling
