As promised here's my update.Went in this morning and told the nurse i was very anxious about it all and she put a note on file about offering a sedative. Once i was in the cath lab the very nice dr explained everything he was going to do then said he had noted i was anxious but he would really like me to try without the sedative so i would actually remember being there this time and not be so scared if i end up back again lol He was so nice about it and said if i changed my mind i'd get it straight away so i put my big girl pants on and gave it a go. He talked to me the whole way through and we even managed to have a wee joke!
The stent i had in two years ago is still perfect and although there is minor plaque in two other places its nothing to worry about and "shouldnt" be causing my angina and breathlessness.
Still on the list for treadmill to see what happens with exertion but thays it for now.
Feeling a little bit proud of myself tonight for facing my fears.

That’s fantastic news! I’m glad you didn’t need the sedative after all and that this time, it was a much more pleasant experience. It makes the experience that much more nicer when the doctor is attentive like yours was today. Also good news that they didn’t find anything particularly concerning.
Hopefully the stress test on the treadmill may show something to explain your symptoms.
Keep us updated after your next test. I’d wish you good luck, but I know you won’t need it after conquering your fear of the angiogram today!
Well done for being so brave I was nervous for mine as I am highly allergic to the dye and had to be pretreatedto prevent a repeat of what happened the first time I had it I crashed on the table . However being a laid back person I believed them when they said the pretreatment would work and once the dye was in I relaxed
My daughter however has just had one and had to be persuaded to let them finish it She was a nervous wreck so I admire you for your bravery a nd hopefully if you need another one it will be water off a ducks back .
Hi. The dr was so nice. He talked me through everything he was doing before he did it and kept popping his head round the screen to ask if i was still talking to him and hadnt fallen out with him. Definitely made it a better experience.Jules x
Well done! I know I definitely would of took the sedative haven't had an angiogram before hope to never have one. Glad yours went well and hope your appointment for treadmill comes through soon 👍😉
Well done to you Jules! I’m glad it went well and they didn’t find anything concerning. I just hope the team doing mine tomorrow are as kind and empathetic as yours were! I hope they manage to sort your exercise stress test a bit sooner than in 18 months time. That is a long wait!
That's brilliant news, Jules and well done for being so brave too! It must have been scary for you so you've every right to feel proud of yourself! Carol
Most of the time the xray machine was in front of the screen anyway so didnt get to see much but the dr did make sure to move it out of the way at one point to show me x
You should feel very proud of you! That was a huge step to decide to forego a sedative. Congratulations!
Excellent news on your stent! Hopefully, it stays in excellent shape.
That issue of breathlessness is a tricky one though. I am going in today for a CT scan to take a look at a lung nodule that was found in March 2022 during my HA. Plus, I want to find out why I still have so much trouble breathing. I hope that you soon have yours sorted and can get some relief!
