CABG Update
On the mend - it’s funny how you seem to feel improvements exponentially each day but a few ups and downs - they’re planning to discharge me on Tuesday if the pace of recovery continues - just don’t want to rush it too much but all seems positive so far 😀

Done - 3 new pipes in and up walking - they don’t hang around, do they? No real pain but plenty of soreness - now the real journey starts 😀

CABG update
So here goes - at The Royal Brompton with one last night before my triple CABG tomorrow - being woken up @ 6am before being taken down to surgery. Suddenly it’s all got a bit ‘real’ - oh well, what’s the worst that could happen………….

Any bikers had CABG? How long before back on the motorbike?
Hi everyone, I’m recovering from quadruple bypass, nearly 2 months . Was told 3 weeks ago I was ok to drive. Consultant said give it a few more weeks before being allowed to ride. What was your experience of getting back on the bike post surgery? I’m a newbie, only passed CBT end of March and was

CABG update
Thanks for all the messages of support and the like. I’m really not a social media type person as I grew up in an age with humans interacting face to face and I’m hardwired for such communication but this sight is incredibly inspiring and the posts are very supportive - there’s nothing like interacting

Might have asked this before…..
So, I’m 56 yo now, and had an interesting experience about 7 years ago where I had two angiograms and a partial angioplasty, where I had a severe reaction to the contrast dye. I still had issues and as a result I had a CABG in 2016. Since then, I’ve had tablets because I’ve struggled with hills and

Concerned I have PAD
Hello All, I used to be on this forum as Judge Dredd but I had to drop out due to some issues on another chat group unfortunately. Had long-term (20 plus years) hypertension and was diagnosed with CAD approx 5 years ago. Underwent a double CABG in Feb 2020 and then angioplasty with stent in Mar 2023

Gallbladder
Has anyone here had their gallbladder removed after also having had a cabg? How did you get on working out what to eat and what not to eat? I wasn't given a diet sheet, only advised to stick to a low fat diet with plenty fruit and veg. I'm finding I'm eating the sane things all the time! Fish and chicken

3 weeks post CABG surgery
Looking for a bit of reassurance… My dad had a triple heart bypass 3 weeks ago, all went well apart from starting with a chest infection whilst in ICU. He was given IV antibiotics then oral antibiotics and was discharged after 5 days. He’s been home just over 2 weeks now and has been to the GP and his

Having a STEMI in mid 40's...the search for underlying causes / answers for premature CHD.
Hi Everyone, My husband had a major STEMI in March 2023 with a full blockage of his circumflex artery. He was 44 years old and playing 5-a-side football in a local sports centre when he collapsed without warning. Thank goodness it happened there of all places however, as the swift actions of his team

2 weeks after Bypass surgery
Good morning everyone 😊 Sorry for the delayed update. On 15 Jan I underwent CABG x3. I was in ICU on the ventilator for 24 hours after op as there was a bleed on my chest that they needed to correct before waking me up. I was completely unaware of any of this, my first memory was a 3am phone call from

Banging my head against a brick wall
I am feeling so tired and breathless. Just had a telephone appointment, my year follow up after ablation with a nurse, I haven’t once seen or heard from a doctor apart from the day of ablation to sign consent. I have since ablation, had a CABG because of triple vessel disease all through my private health

Post CABG infection at leg wound site
My husband had Triple bypass surgery on 1st Dec. Recovered really well and was looking great with minimal pain and getting stronger every day. Wounds had healed well although leg wound/scar where they took the saphenous vein was still a bit lumpy although closed, dry and healthy looking. Suddenly three

UTI’s post CABG
Hi all, my husband is 14 weeks post triple bypass. He’s recovered incredibly well however he has had persistent UTI’s since. He’s been on antibiotics several times but it doesn’t seem to be clearing up. He’s calling the doctor again today but I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this? Thank

Getting back to fitness following CABG
Triple bypass 9 weeks ago. Up until a few months before surgery and when I knew there was a problem, I was training everyday at the gym doing CrossFit etc. At the moment I am walking everyday 3-5 miles each day but am now itching to do more. My breathing is good when walking but not when going upstairs
