Retained pacing wires
I understand most people having CABG or valve surgery these days have pacing wires connected in case of heart block or Afib after the Op. I have found out that in my case the wires were cut at skin level and retained. However I have read that retaining them in the body can cause problems later on there

Update
HI my friends! I have now seen my MPN specialist twice. I was back to see him in Nashville on November 29. My diagnosis has changed from ET to PV which is what I kept thinking (since April)! My HCT was at 47.5, so I had my first phlebotomy of 500MLs. Yahoo! I had been begging my previous Dr to do this

metal vs plastic ureteral stents
I just had removal of bilateral stent placed in Sept.2021-- the urologist mentioned the possibility of stent failure requiring nephrostomies-- he said he didn't have experience with metal ureteral stents which I inquired about thinking they would withstand the cancer should the tumor grow--- I have

Arm pain after angioplasty
10 days after my angioplasty and my bruised arm/wrist is blue instead of the black it was after the procedure. However, the pain hasn't subsided at all and in fact is worse, I can't even brush my teeth without having to stop for a minute or two. Sleeping is difficult as well as I can't rest it anywhere

Hi all. Well 4 1/2 years after my bypass surgery I found myself with similar angina pains although things went slightly differently this time. At first I think I was in denial about the pain 'was it imagined' 'was it indigestion'? In the end I could ignore it no longer so last Monday (18th) I phoned

Scared again
I was diagnosed with CHD in 2017 and had one stent put in LAD. I had been experiencing very mild exertion chest pain. Since then I have had not pain, that is until very recently. On walking uphill, I get very mild pain which I have only just had the courage to confirm as angina by using my GTN, which

Any substitutes for h. r. t, since I have a stent???
I'm Bieng told it's a year's wait for an appointment with a gynecologist, which is needed for a refferal to prescribe an h. R. T. Alternative? Has anyone, does anyone know a safe alternative to hrt as my flushes are frequent and unbearable?

Cabg issues
Hi My dad went in to hospital for cabg last monday. He was so happy about getting it done so quickly. It was all good until he had an episode the following night, we believe a heart attack. He has damage now to his heart. He is still on a ventilator and they are trying to keep him stable. I am so scared

Roller coaster mind set
Hi, I am a new joiner, I am 60 and retired from a high pressured and demanding job 2 years ago. I had a heart attack in May 2021 which resulted in one stent. Initially I was very shocked, then the fear, then relief I was fixed. I adjusted very quickly and within one month was back to walking 5 miles

It's back...again
Very briefly: Dad has squamous cell nsclc. He had upper right lobectomy December 2019 and given all clear.. Aug 2020 came back in mediastinal lymph nodes causing SVCO. The tumour was 9cm so he had a stent. He had 4 rounds of carboplatin, paclitaxol and pembro. It reduced to 6cm....so he was put on maintenance

Angioplasty
Due to have angioplasty in 10 days. I have a blocked LAD but my heart has done 2 by passes, to help, but they haven’t quite done the job. Exercise test showed st depression. Cardiologist is going to try and poke a way through, and stent the LAD. Anyone had anything similar.

Calcium products and calcification of coronary artery,
Hi, I had a stent in left coronary artery due to calcium deposits and narrowing on angiogram 3 years ago, all other arteries were fine. I read a lot of stuff about calcium supplements laying down calcium on your arteries causing a blockage. I had been on Calcichew daily for over 10 years prior to the
