Referral to renal unit?
I’ve recently been in hospital for angioplasty which unfortunately couldn’t go ahead due to the twisting and an aneurysm in the RCA. I had a kidney removed 3 years ago due to cancer and the remaining kidney never picked up from about 45 gfr. It has gone steadily down to 37gfr. I had blood tests carried

After a cardio version what things should you avoid doing in relation to exercise or every day stuff? To reduce risk of returning to AFib?
Post HA, arrest and a stent ( which put me into continuous AFib) 3 months ago Saw arrhythmia specialist yesterday and will have 1st cardio version in about 4 weeks. I was very fit and used to exercise before this lot. I’m now in slow lane at swimming and get breathless walking to quickly or up a small

Safe to take supplements?
Hi, With all the meds I'm taking in first year after triple CABG is it safe to take supplements (namely Vitamin D / zinc in winter months)? Or will I be overwhelming my liver? Thanks

Sternum Clicking post CABG
I am experiencing Sternum Clicking post CABG. Now 4 weeks since surgery and I’ve had minor clicking for about 2-weeks. Like 4-6 clicks or pops per day, mostly later in the day when I’m tired. Have you experienced this and how long does it take to heal? Thanks so much. It’s a bit disturbing 🙃

Newbie.... Just joined and trying to make sense of this new situation in my life!
Had my heart attack back in June, stent fitted, lots of complications. I had previously been fit and healthy (or so I thought), weak as a kitten when I came out of hospital and have slowly got stronger... Three and a bit months later still off work. Been through all the emotions, tears and low points

Medications after having a stent
Hello everyone, just wanted to ask which medications people have been prescribed after having a stent fitted, my dad is due to have one but is struggling to take both asprin and clopidogrel, they both really upset him and he takes lansoprazole which doesn't seem to help, has anyone else had this trouble

Are there any natural supplements really worth taking for AFib? There’s so many claims out there.
Been in permanent AFib since stemi, cardiac arrest and stent fitted 2 months ago. Not obese never smoked exercised hard 4 times a week. Curious about supplements but also curious about medical treatments of cardiac version and ablation as I’m seeing arythmia nurse to discuss options next week. Any info

4 weeks post cabg and back in hospital.
Hi everyone it's been 4 weeks since my double bypass. I've been having breathing issues and yesterday Dr's asked me to go to hospital as fluid on my left lung. Dr's have just done ward rounds and my left lung is full of fluid. I could either have a needle put in but it would only drain 1 1/2 litres so

Is 5:2 diet suitable for me?
Hello guys, Had a heart attack and triple CABG 8 months ago. Is a 5:2 diet / lifestyle suitable for me right now or ever? 5:2 being, for 2 days of the week cut calorie intake to 600 (500 for women). Is there a minimum intake I need to maintain every day for optimum heart health? Thanks

AF frustration
Good morning, My husband had a NSTEMI heart attack in June of this year and his recovery has been slow due to repeated episodes of AF, he hasn't had an official diagnosis yet as the aftercare has been very limited and he hasn't seen a GP or consultant since having his stent fitted. He had an episode
