Microcytic, hypochromic anemia.
is what I've been told I have .Hi all , newbie here .I am 62 and began to suffer horrendous tiredness , falling asleep everywhere .I have sleep apnea , but though I wear a CPAP , the small red blood cells produced in the anemia above is the real problem .It was red flagged as a possible slow bleed ,

Chin straps - one for those with SA sufferers and snorers
I’ve used CPAP for about 5 years now and it has definitely improved my QOL. I have bought and tried most makes of chin strap - some were better than others but I still haven’t come across one that I am truly comfortable with. Can anyone recommend a comfortable, breathable strap? You can PM me if you

Why I advocate for Pediatric Kidney Patients
People ask me all the time, what is my motivation to advocate for Pediatric Kidney Patients? This lady in the photograph is. Her name was Maureen O'Brien. She was one of the first people in Indiana on dialysis at the age of 6. This was not in the era of Medicare/ automatic qualification for dialysis

Asthma - temporary worsening
Hi, I wonder if I can get some advice please. In the last few weeks my asthma seems to have got a bit worse. I use Airflusal 250 and that works really well. I also use prednisone 8.5mg per day. Is it normal for Asthma to come and go?, I mean have a few weeks where it gets worse and then it gets better

Hi all I seen this group an thought I'd join..I started with dialysis when I was 11 years old.. im 45 now an had 3 transplants which lasted a total of 10 years.. I think the news tries to make out that dialysis is worse than it actually is.. if you don't miss treatment you can live a healthy life away

Transplant Insurance Coverage
Does anyone have a suggestion about who to consult regarding what will be paid by my Humana Advantage Medicare policy for a kidney transplant? I asked my Transplant Center Coordinator and she (curtly) replied that I had to research that information. BTW: For those just recently put on dialysis or anticipating

PD Catheter
Hi, EGFR now dropped to 11, and PD catheter being fitted next week, followed by a Fistula soon after. Any advice on coping with Peritoneal Dialysis would be appreciated. Interested in whether I may feel 'healthier', or whether there is no real change.

New to low GFR
I took Advil for years with chronic pain from a traumatic auto accident. After surgeries, my specialists even told me I could take 800mg at a time after 48 hours had passed. Finally, a somewhat unscrupulous neurologist told me to stop taking any NSAID. However, he didn't refer me to a nephrologist nor
