AKF Safety Net Program

FYI: I received an application from my dialysis center's Social Worker yesterday for American Kidney Fund's "Safety Net Program" that dialysis patients may want to check out. Here is the link to the info: kidneyfund.org/safetynet

AKF will help patients with financial challenges to pay for all sorts of dialysis-related expenses. I, personally, took advantage of their Transportation Reimbusement allotment. Save your gas receipts and submit them to your Social Worker or Dialysis Center Financial/Insurance advisor and receive a maximum of $100/year toward fuel expenses. There are other reimbursement categories such as medication co-pay, renal vitamins, etc. Look at the link provided and find the AKF "Grant Request Worksheet" to see if you may qualify for financial assistance.
