I got to ring that bell
On Wednesday I had my last radiotherapy and I got to ring the bell, after 20 rounds of radiotherapy, 18 weeks of chemotherapy and 2 operations. I know not everyone is lucky enough to ring the bell, my late husband included. It was been the toughest fight I’ve ever done and I pray I won’t have to do it

Good scan news today ;-) 15 months in.
Scan results today for my Mum. No progression all looks “nice” is what the dr said. Not the words I would use haha but all is good on this rollercoaster 🎢 for now anyway. 4 months to next scan now. 15 months into this journey she’s on letrazol and ibrance/palbociclib and desumnabab (excuse spelling

PSA bounce 1 yr. after radiation therapy
Hello Everyone, Great to be back in touch -- and I appreciated your previous input, which helped me settle on my particular radiation treatment, high does rate brachy/ monotherapy (HDR). HDR helped me avoid the combination of low dose rate (LDR) seeds and beam radiation initially recommended to me.

Letrozole and Ibrance is it working?
Hi ladies, I have found such comfort these past 6 months reading all your posts and stories. My mum was diagnosed in February with Mets to her spine in 4 places one pressing against her spinal cord which gave her shooting pains in her leg, she was sent for emergency radiotherapy and all has been well

I'm relatively new here - trying to cope!
I'm retired from full-time work, doing voluntary work to keep occupied. I was diagnosed with a meningioma 18 months ago but feel I'm not getting the full information I need. I know the tumour is growing, is in an awkward place for surgery, but not suitable apparently for radiotherapy. I sometimes feel

now that I am thinking about my previous thyroid problems I seem to remember them telling me I had a nodule on my thyroid. I will need to ask to see my GP notes to check as it was a long time ago. Hi could anyone give me advice please. I was treated for an overactive thyroid with radiotherapy and carbimazole many years ago, after which I took thyroxine until I had a reaction to it. I was told by my then GP that my levels were normal and it was stopped. I was also told that my antibodies were

Supplements intake during Salvage Radiation Therapy, what to stop?
I will start my SRT (prostate bed only) after RRP surgery (09/2017/ G score 9 {4+5} no EC extension), (last PSA was 0.11 ng), next week and really confused about the followings: 1) What to eat? apparently, no fibers, no whole wheat bread, avoid anything that can cause gases/diarrhea/loose stool? The

Delaying starting tamoxifen
Hi all, I was diagnosed in April with IDC (ER+|PR+ HER2-)and had 2 unsuccessful lumpectomies followed by a unilateral mastectomy with immediate implant reconstruction on July 1st last. My oncotype score was 13 and as the mastectomy had clear margins I thankfully don’t need either chemo or radiotherapy

The Alien has left the building!!
Thanks to each and every one of you for your kind thoughts and prayers. Its amazing how good it makes me feel to know that someone is thinking of you. My Alien was attached to blood vessels and bowel but I didn't need resection and it's gone off for analysis.I was told there was some surgical, pins left

Lung with brain Mets and not treating
Posted a while ago about dad being diagnosed with stage 4nsclc with Mets to brain. There was hope of immunotherapy being given after initial radiotherapy to the brain but dad is unable to come off steroids due to brain so it has been decided that they are not going to treat him at all. We as a family

Hello, I have just signed up today! Last year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and although I am now cancer free (yay!) I am still struggling with the side effects of the chemo and radiotherapy. Because of the type of chemo drug I was on and coupled with the steroids I had to take my weight has gone
