Cannot take antioxidants during radiotherapy
My first run on Lupron a year ago had been debilitating making it very difficult for me to do my work as a software developer. I ended up going off Lupron following that first shot. In January of this year, I went back on Lupron but I found ways to fight the fatigue and brain fog with a combination

Hyperthermia Treatment
Hi, I have a small mass at the base of my throat and it is causing a lot of discomfort. I am unable to use radiation therapy as the area has been previously treated. It has been suggested I try localised hyperthermia treatment. Have any of you tried this treatment method and if so what are your thoughts

Radiotherapy - are there any disadvantages?
So, 7 months on enzalutamide has passed quickly and I get a phone call out of the blue from the Royal Marsden. "We want you to start targeted radiotherapy on your prostate. Please come in for us to arrange this." My PSA currently hovers around 0.18. I begun at 10.8 ("but it should have been much higher

Mets to T-9
2nd PET end February demonstrated continuation of remission to Mets in my T-9. I underwent Radiotherapy to T8 - T11, I take Ibrance, Letrozole and Denusomab six monthly. Seems my back goes through bouts of pain especially first few months after Denusomab (last one end March) any one else experiences

Getting ready for clinical trial
I agreed to take part in a clinical trial (S1802) a couple weeks ago, and with that came another round of scans, more blood draws, a chat with a urologist, and a chat with a radiation oncologist. My bone scan had a lot fewer dark spots this time around, and the report said 'mets are less conspicuous'

fasting before radiation treatment
What are the thoughts of fasting prior to radiation treatment for protecting against cytotoxic effects and also improving effectiveness of treatment.

Cll and skin cancer - An update and a warning.
You may recall I had a neck dissection followed by 6 weeks of intensive radiotherapy which finished about 6 weeks ago. This was to treat SCC of the parotid gland which had spread to lymph nodes in my neck I got through all of that ok and managed the side effects from the RT. Even my CLL was in remission

Help with Nocturia (night time urination)
Compared to others on this group, I have got off lightly with late side effects of Radiotherapy. But I still have some. I hope what I am posting does not seem trivial compared to what others are going through. I had pelvic radiotherapy 45 years ago. I believe my nocturia started about 30 years ago.

PSA after Salvage Radiation
Hi guys! I had a prostatectomy in July 2015 and my PSA fell to around .04 following surgery. It has steadily increased over 5 years to .42. I have had a PSMA scan and nothing shows up. In December I decided to go ahead with Salvage Radiation Therapy and completed my 39th treatment in early February

AI could help cut waiting times for cancer by automating mark-up of patient scans prior to radiotherapy.
Doctors at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge aim to drastically cut cancer waiting times by using artificial intelligence (AI) to automate lengthy radiotherapy preparations. Planning radiotherapy treatment can be a lengthy process. It starts with a 3D CT (Computed Tomography) imaging scan of the part

Time from finishing cycles until scans?
Hi. I was just wondering what the typical sort of time is between finishing chemo cycles and radiotherapy before having scans etc to see how much they’ve worked? My dad is currently in that ‘waiting’ part and I’m trying not to nag him about chasing up appts but he’s always so vague when he’s had his

Salvage Cryoablation
So..my UroOnc wants to pursue cryoablation after my failed radiotherapy (EBRT/LDR Brachytherapy ). I don't know yet if I can have focal only cryo or have to have whole prostate ablation. I know the ED outcome is bad, but has anyone else had this treatment and how are you doing afterward? Any other

Keytruda and Guillain Barre Syndrome
After various false starts, it has been confirmed that the Immunotherapy treatment with Keytruda has been the cause of my GBS event in January. I'm off immunotherapy forever now. Just learned today that my lung tumor has grown and is getting close to my airway. Looking at possible radiation treatment

When to start salvage radiation therapy
When to start salvage radiation therapy Just a quick question. I have found different psa values recommended to start salvage radiation therapy.Apparently to my understanding the earlier the better. I found different numbers ranging from 0,03 to 0.2 with a huge difference in relapse free survival
