Hi, my name is Abeebat, my son had ependymoma brain tumor when he was 15 months in 2014, he had several surgeries as it was a huge one, it was not diagnosed on time. My son lost his mobility before the diagnoses but thank God he got it back after the surgeries. He had a year of chemotherapy and that

Breathlessness and dry cough since last October
Has anyone else had chest problems and have you had any successful treatment. I've always been prone to chest infections and a scan over 12 months ago found damage to my left lung (around the area that the radiotherapy was delivered to) and then more damage was found on my scan in December which was

Introduction
Hi my name is Scott. I'm 31 years old and I have Pan-hypopituitarism from a tumour that was removed when I was 9 years old. The tumour grew back two years later so I had radiotherapy. The tumour never grew back after this but I have to take replacement medication for 5 hormones for the rest of my life

Never too old I hope!
Hi all, I'm 72, just finished prostate cancer hormone treatment and 20 radio therapy sessions. Put on some weight around my middle (was 12 1/2 stone, now 13 5) so couch to 5k seemed the way to go. On day 1 had to walk the 3rd run but day 2 & 3 completed as instructed but recovery very slow. Feel I should

Update
After my 3rd Cyberknife radiation treatment on 3/27 sensations of wanting to urinate frequently and soreness in the rectum and between my legs progressively got worse. 5th and final treatment was on 3/31. Sensations continued. Last night 4/3 discomfort improved and today I was able to have a decent orgasm

At risk?
Maybe I am not at risk so would like to know if anyone is in the same situation? I have had lung cancer and have had a lung removed, chemo and radiotherapy 2 years ago. I have not received a letter telling me that I am vulnerable. I am still working as my job is deemed essential (I work for a company

Post radiation issues
Happy to say my last Cyberknife radiation treatment was completed, Tuesday, Marc 31 2020. After the third treatment I did start having issues with the urgency to urinate often. To be expected I understand. Never had these symptoms pre treatment. RaOc said they will probably stop eventually because I

UK government's 12 week shielding group.
Everyday there is people asking "I have ,x,y,z conditions, should I be shielding for 12 weeks?" or "I have not received a letter from government, but should I be shielding for 12 weeks?" The following is the list of conditions where patients should have received the "12 weeks shielding/isolation" letter

Recent 2020 research report, and one in 2017 showing Xofigo may have a much higher risk of serious side effects on bone marrow than thought!
Unfortunately, some of us here have been suspecting this, due to personal experience: "Twenty-three patients received Xofigo at UF Health, and one was lost to follow-up. Sixteen patients (73%) completed the full course (six doses) of Xofigo, while six did not. Ten patients (45%) developed pancytopenia

Issues with Radiation Therapy and the location of the heart
Has anyone had issues with Radiation Therapy and the location of their heart? I went for my consult and they said that I have to have my expanders reduced more than the 180cc that I had removed before my consultation. Wondering if my "assigned" radiation oncologist really knows what they are doing, since
