Scan results today for my Mum.

No progression all looks “nice” is what the dr said. Not the words I would use haha but all is good on this rollercoaster 🎢 for now anyway. 4 months to next scan now.

15 months into this journey she’s on letrazol and ibrance/palbociclib and desumnabab (excuse spelling) monthly to help the numerous bone mets.

My Mum Never had an initial diagnosis. She had a sore neck for a while, was dismissed by dr as work strain injury, given pain relief, then dismissed from hospital with diazepam after the actual break when she felt it happen, then found small lump on one breast. On tests they found bilateral lumps and both cancerous. On results day they was very positive but asked my mum to go upstairs in the hospital and have an X-ray on her neck where it was found to be broken.

Within 8 hours she had been told it’s breast cancer it’s a type that responds well to treatment, to actually it’s spread and you have a large tumour that has taken over your c1 & c2 plus lots of other bony mets, plus lots of little lesions on lungs.

Fast forward 15 months. She had radiotherapy at the beginning to a few areas. Her neck fixed with metal work and started her treatment.

Each scan has showed slight improvement which we never dreamed was a possibility.

She is so good in herself she is amazingly positive and happy and although her life has changed dramatically she has just ran with it!

This site helped me so much at the beginning and still does every day. I hope her story brings some positivity to someone 😊

Sounds like your mom is doing exceptionally well and even with drastic circumstances in the beginning. I pray she continues to get better everyday. She is fortunate to have a loving daughter like you!

Thank you for your mum's story. Gives hope! Continued nice scans!

Excellent news, thank you for sharing the details & history too!

For someone with Bone Mets & on IBrance/Faslodex & Xgeva, how often should you have a scan? What type of scan? Do you remember what month into the treatment your mom started to see results? Thank you to any & all who want to answer these questions!

Thank you Sandra, very helpful!
