Prednisone vs Acterma with steroid induced diabetes. Really terrified
Update: April 2024 was scheduled for eye surgery for Strabismus which was canceled days before when in the same week I was determined by my Endocrinologist to have steroid induced diabetes which makes the general anesthesia too risky at this point. Rescheduled for August tentatively while we work on

The honey bee
I have been looking at the delightful picture of the Italian honey bee with pollen on its legs. What I am puzzled about is on the right. I cannot make out what it is hovering over. Can someone enlighten me? Years ago my father used to keep bees and I used to watch him and also help put the honey in

Is lactose intolerance and soya sensitivity affecting absorption of T4?
SlowDragon If I have a lactose intolerance and sensitivity to soya, could this be affecting my T4 absorption or conversion to T3? If so, would liquid thyroxine help or do I need T3 added? I recall reading a post regarding this from you but I am unsure where it is now. I avoid lactose and soya but

vertigo
though this is a tinnitus forum, people often post about their vertigo. i have an apology to make, having inadvertently misinformed recently. In brief, I was told by a doc at my surgery some ten years ago (who specialised in ear issues) that I should concentrate on the exercises given for this condition

Trabeculectomy tips?
Hi I was diagnosed two or three years ago just prior to my 50th birthday. Drops have been ok but left eye seems to be deteriorating quite rapidly. I am having a trabeculectomy in my left eye in a couple of weeks. I know surgery is experienced differently for everyone but wondered if anyone had any tips

Never ending circle
Morning everyone, just looking for advice and to vent a little. I have posted a few times about my journey but finally thought I had got some answers. Quick recap- after years of being fobbed off by my GP, I eventually went private to see a rheumatologist who actually listened. Initially he diagnosed

Can you help regarding symptoms?
Full disclosure here. My ability to determine my health status is lacking. I either over-react or under-react. I never believed I had PMR but I also didn't believe I had a ruptured appendix. I am a hard worker, managing a small farm so I do feel sore at times. I am presently on 10 mgs prednisone. I

Struggling
I’ve been struggling with tinnitus more and more recently but now it’s so loud I can’t rest. I currently have 3 noises going on with a high pitched constant noise, a regular knocking nose and a whooshing noise and I feel exhausted and overwhelmed. This is my first time on this forum but I just needed

Paul Tube implant for Glaucoma
Hello, I am new here and wonder if anyone else has experience of having this surgery? He chose

My IBS Team Sheet – 2. Haemorrhoids (How I manage)
I think that having experienced having Haemorrhoids about six years ago that led me to be diagnosed with IBS, the relationship between IBS and Haemorrhoids could be a bit of a Red Herring! To be fair, I have experienced having haemorrhoids once since my first diagnosis, but now that I exercise regular
