though this is a tinnitus forum, people often post about their vertigo.

i have an apology to make, having inadvertently misinformed recently.

In brief, I was told by a doc at my surgery some ten years ago (who specialised in ear issues) that I should concentrate on the exercises given for this condition (Brandt Darroff) which, she said, work 80% of the time, and only undertake Eply or Eply if I was no better after several weeks. I wasn’t, so she performed the procedure warning me that I would feel nauseous for at least two days, and gave me a printed reminder of what to do (sleep on back with at least two and preferably three pillows for two nights was one of them). She said she only performed the procedure in extremis as she didn’t want anyone vomiting in her surgery.

this worked for a while, then after a couple of years I had another bout (then the procedure) and then again, when I did indeed vomit in the surgery.

This is why I’ve been reiterating what the doc told me - only to have the procedure if nothing else worked.

Others here have said that this is isn’t the case.

So my apologies are due to whoever I have, inadvertently, misled.

You add a lot to this forum, Rosie, and your contribution is invaluable - I honestly don't think you have anything to apologise for.

We're all talking about our experience here and that shouldn't be taken as direct medical guidance, with the best will in the world.

Dont worry Happyrosie . Opinions and experiences are often different to/ for other people . Often its trail and error. We may post things we have been told by various medical expects or read in some tiny obscure item on the web. We can only try to help each other with the information we have. . You are amazing on here x
