cologuard vs colonoscopy
I’m on watch and wait for about five years now. So far, a most indolent diagnosis. My question is about colon cancer screening. Is the non-invasive cologuard acceptable rather than a colonoscopy? I had a colonoscopy ten years ago and was clean. I’m due again and am wondering about cologuard vs. colonoscopy

Colonoscopies after Salvage SBRT -- How Safe?
My internist has recommended that I get a colonoscopy. But simply to make sure there is no indication of any rectal problems. I have no symptoms of any rectal disease. I had salvage SBRT for prostate cancer nearly a year-and-a-half ago, in late August 2021, There is no indication that the SBRT damaged

Redundant Colon anyone?
Curious as to the cause of my redundant colon, which has developed over the last 2 years, notably since commencing hydroxycarbamide. Last month I had my first colonoscopy and learned of this. I have a very distended belly (bloating) and it looks to be permanent. Should I blame the drug or my age (currently

IBS and swelling abdomen
I had a colonoscopy last Aug. Result was diverticulosis and IBS My concern is my abdomen seems to swell up as the day goes on with pain. Seems the swelling goes down a little after I wake up in the morning. Doctor has not given me a solution to what this is. I've had many scans and tests. Does anyone

Co-morbidities with B12D/PA
Did anyone get any strange or unusual comorbidities around the time of their B12 deficiency or PA diagnosis? I just spoke with the hospital concerning a check-up on my parotid gland - a pleomorphic adenoma I had removed in 2020 along with a co-occurring thyroid nodule removal. They state that they

Possible Gastritis Help Please :,(
I’m currently experiencing bouts of the worst tummy pain I’ve ever had. It started on New Year’s Day with a vague feeling of just feeling under the weather, fever, off food and mild tummy ache. Fast forward to January 2nd and the vague tummy ache became constant and accompanied by the most awful tummy

Stage 4 Prostate Cancer treated with Xtandi- 3 pills & Zolodex; 1.5 yrs diagnosed, now left side pain under ribs
CT scan and ultrasound have shown no significant change since the initial diagnosis April 2021 with surgery to remove tumor from the spine. Harrington Rods were inserted in the back to support the spine. Now regaining the ability to walk with a cane, which given surgery; was unlikely. Numbness persists

symptoms persist after Covid
Hello everyone. I had Covid (mild case) a little over a month ago, and I'm still trying to recover from it. I spent three years with health anxiety about Covid, and finally got it. I can make it through the day until 2:00 pm, which is when I have to lay down and take a nap (if I can). I also have

Redundant colon anyone?
Two years ago I started my hydroxycarbamide regimen for ET and at the time I was a sveldt 54 kg. Now 2 years down the track not only have a added 5 kg to that number, but have adopted a 'balloon' belly, which is uncomfortably bloated. Thankfully there is no pain. My specialist is not keen to change

concerned about continuing bleeding
hello! Since the middle of November I have had blood on my stools, like streaks ranging from bright red to a maroon red colour. It’s not every day or even every motion but it’s very regular. It is NOT present on wiping, or staining the toilet water, only on my stool. my doctor has ordered blood work

Hi all, I posted about this time last year about having a colonoscopy but couldnt have one because I was pregnant. They did do a sigmoidoscopy for me back in the summer and they found a large polyp (thankfully benign) and a few small ones. They couldnt take them out due to me being pregnant but they

colonoscopy pain relief
I have paroxysmal AF. I’m having a colonoscopy and can choose from sedation or gas and air for pain relief. Which is safer for AF? Many thanks in advance.

safe pain meds for surgery
I was recently diagnosed with NAFLD and have a F0/1 score on the fibroscan. I have Upper Right Quadrant symptoms and high liver enzymes and extremely high ferritin. My treatment protocol is weight-loss and exercise (from a gastroenterologist). I’ve had this condition for at least 6 years, no one said
