Feeling Sick
I am a colorectal cancer patient with a loop
colostomy
on the transverse colon. My main colectomy surgery hasn't happened, yet. When I normally sit on the toilet to pass mucus I get nauseous.

5th Surgery- Laparotomy
He has also said I may need a
colostomy
bag for a few weeks after if extensive surgery on my bowel is needed. Has anyone experienced this and what was the recovery time like? Thanks in advance xx

Apixaban and Piles plus a few other things
We tried bowel irrigation over two years but that ultimately failed so in December I had a
Colostomy
which is the only success story to date. Immediately after the
colostomy
I became aware of pain in the rectal area down to piles (internal and external (big ones).

Have any of you got gastrointestinal issues and had it suggested that you would find it easier with a
colostomy
bag. If you have or have done the op I would really appreciate your thoughts and experience. Thanks in advance

New to the group
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in August 2017, stage 3, after a complete hysterectomy and debulking surgery, where I was lucky enough to not require a
colostomy
bag afterwards. I go on Monday to get the results of my one year scan and am a little nervous this time.

tofacitinib side effects
my son has just started taking tofacitinib (xeljanz) and is feeling pretty rubbish like he's starting with a cold/flu which he's put down to side effects of this new drug. Has anyone else had the same and if so how long did they last? Also how effective has this been in treating your ulcerative colitis

Not to tight please!
I cannot tolerate the pressure on my
colostomy
or abdomen; it makes me feel sick. Any suggestions? I do need to aid in treating the lymphedema by wearing some compression. Thanks for any suggestions. Kaleena

Bowel and uterus stuck together
Four years ago I had a
colostomy
and had it reversed which left me with an enormous amount of scar tissue. I am happy to say that 2 days after surgery I can finally have a successful bowel movement without laxatives. Life can get better!!

Bowel leakage after partner's surgery
My partner has had UC for around a year and a half, very severe, and required surgery for a
colostomy
bag within a month of diagnosis. He is currently in the process of having it reversed and has just had his second surgery. 1.

Update on Yesterday’s Colonoscopy
I explained my mother had a
colostomy
as a result of diverticulitis so the nurse showed me small reddened parts which were beginning to develop into diverticula. No polyps, some biopsies taken “because of weight loss” and I was given a copy of the report with a bonus four photos of my innards.

Information Please After Hysterectomy
During the keyhole op the Consultant terminated the op as he found that my womb was stuck to my bowel and if he had continued the way it was I might have ended up having to wear a
colostomy
bag. He continued treating me another way.

Adenomyosis/Fibroids - which treatment?
Risks of damage to bowel and other organs or even risk of a
colostomy
. Regular hysterectomy - through the vagina and very similar to above. I'm still on Methyprogesterone but being told it is a risk being on it and need to come off asap, which of course I can't as I will haemmorhage.
