tofacitinib side effects

my son has just started taking tofacitinib (xeljanz) and is feeling pretty rubbish like he's starting with a cold/flu which he's put down to side effects of this new drug. Has anyone else had the same and if so how long did they last? Also how effective has this been in treating your ulcerative colitis? his consultant has hinted this is a last resort and if it fails it will mean a colectomy so he's keen for good results.

thanks

How is your son doing now, my son has severe ulcerative collitis and not responding to Remidex. GI is thinking to give him tofacitinib.

Can you please share your son’s experience with it.

Thanks
