Nissen fundolplication
I am currently waiting to be put on the lung transplant list , I've had all the assessments and everything is good to go . I need to have a Nissen Fundoplication first and was wondering if anyone else had had this procedure either before or after transplant as I am terrified

Help
My mum has been having trouble breathing. Was admitted to hospital. They took fluid from her lungs. She was told yesterday she has lung cancer and no more information. We were told a junior doctor would see us today but nobody had. They are talking of letting her home tomorrow if her oxygen levels stay

A Case Of The Gimmes...
Sometimes...not often...I'm overcome by a case of the gimmes. Throwing myself on the floor and drumming my heels, because I want it and want it now... It'll be a book I've read about or seen advertised perhaps...top of the list at present is The Dublin Tenements...black and white photographs and stories

What treatments for Lung Cancer?
My brother has been diagnosed with stage three NSCLC. Adenocarcinoma. He had a Mediastinoscopy/bronchoscopy to reveal the cancer was in the three lymph nodes that he had removed. This was over 6 weeks ago. They state its inoperable and incurable. He is due to start chemotherapy this week. His own GP

Remembering Family Holidays...
Somewhere, buried at the bottom of a shoe box probably...is a photograph of myself and my little brother just inside the Major Oak in Sherwood forest...it is a grim photo. I've obviously been crying because my eyes are swollen almost shut and my brother is glowering in the way only a five year old can

Bronchiectasis /azithromycin , emphysema, transplant ....help
After a few good years on azithromycin I started to have an allergic reaction to them.My doc said it's too dangerous to continue taking them. Since stopping them in September 2014 I'm constantly in pain on my left side and keep getting infection after infection. Does anyone know of any other treatment

Transplant question
I have a question. When going meeting with a lung transplant team, do the doctors commonly stipulate that an exercise regimen of cardio minimum of 30 minutes per day? I've been reading many personal accounts by survivors, but have yet to find such a requirement ... unless it's not a big

How do you find a specialist oncologist
I have stage 4 lung cancer which is alk positive - I have had a great run on xalkori - a targeted Hersey but I have now had slight progression. I am the first person in Shropshire to test positive for the mutation and to be on these tablets and if I'm honest I have lost confidence in the oncology team
