If referred to "Rapid Access lung clinic" does it mean cancer?
I'm fretting again... After my dad has finally had his letter today for his appointment for a ct scan on wednesday... I just though he would discuss the results with the doctor... However the letter he got today from the rapid access lung clinic sounds more serious.... Mao once he's had the ct scan he

collapsed
and the palaver began. No one knew what to do my surgeon literally moved in hospital so he can be nearby in case things got worse, phoned all the lung specialists worldwide to present my case and no one had an answer.

Things are not so bad after all. :)
It was time to test myself again and as usual I had something quite challenging in mind. This time I was full of doubts that I could actually still do this walk and I was not really sure it was the right thing to do. I decided to try and get myself to the top of the Herefordshire Beacon or what is also

I am not sure how long this has been around, but I hadn't heard of it before. It certainly looks promising for people with some types of cancer. I see skin cancer treated this way has been successfully treated and lung cancer held at bay. A lady in the article has had an extra two years of life, following

Two types of breathing? What do you think
Today was my interval training run up those hills I thought were impossible when I started this running lark. Today as I ran I was thinking about my breathing . I remember so clearly week 1 run 1. Absolutely gasping and couldn't make 60 secs. I am now 6 months post graduation - still running, but

Thoughts on aches and pains
Firstly let me start by saying I am no runner. Never have been, never will be, especially now I am Rapidly approaching 50, 6ft 4 and very much the wrong side of 20st. But what I have done 32 times up to today is shuffle round Park Run, painfully slowly but without too much pain to me. Yes sure it hurts

Looking At The Records Of A Lunatic Asylum...
I was looking for a particular person this afternoon when I came upon the entire list of admissions to the Sheffield Lunatic Asylum from 1872-1910. Names, ages, reason for admission and dates of both admission and discharge... It makes for truly alarming reading. Many of the patients were listed as having

Hello, Smiler here ;)
I have just read the lovely wishes from you all and I feel rather honoured that you put those words. I am on the mend but felt after reading those reports that I should say hello, pain not to bad rather a lot of discomfort but then when they have been messing around inside your lung what did I expect

Update on Fred
He would have been home yesterday but his
lung
collapsed
and he had to have it reinflated. Needless to say he's feeling very sore at the moment. Fred will be back with us as soon as he feels well enough.

More tests
Hi everyone It's been a while since I posted. I finished my chemo/radiation treatment in December 2014 and had a few ups and downs but overall a general improvement gaining in strength and energy and out and about doing what my energy levels would allow. Not back to my golf and the allotment has sadly

Reaction to Serevent?
It may be coincidence but I had a strange reaction to Serevent yesterday. I just switched back to Spiriva and was also given Serevent so yesterday would have been the third time I used Serevent. When I used it, it I got a sensation like something went down the wrong tube much like when you are swallowing
