Is it safe to take mesalazine/octasa long term for ulcerative colitis?
Hi everyone, I'm Claire and was diagnosed with mild/moderative ulcerative
colitis
last year. Apart from an initial flare up (followed by diagnostic procedures leading to a diagnosis), my only symptoms have been an uncomfortable/slightly painful feeling in my stomach/upper intestine.

Starting adalimumab (humira)
Im going on holiday to Greece early July so I just hope all will be ok as I’m feeling anxious about using the toilet urgently as I have ulcerative
colitis
. I’m also on predisolone steroids for 6 weeks (each week lowering my dose).

Help! I'm on the never-ending train of being diagnosed then undiagnosed with microscopic colitis, diverticulitis and severe BAM
In 2019 I was diagnosed with Microscopic
colitis
, in 2020 my Gp undiagnosed me as she couldn't see it on the colonoscopy pictures. I'm not educated to any Drs level but is the clue not in name, Microscopic!! So been put on Meds for it, then got taken off them.

MRI Diagnosis?
I think the latter part of the findings is more to do with my Ulcerative
Colitis
(diagnosed with UC in 2000 age 10/11), gastro weren’t that concerned about the lymph nodes. I’m a little concerned about the sigmoid colon being stuck, obviously because of my UC.

Sigmoid Colitis
I've done 2 stool samples which show raised calprotectin so now a long wait for gastro to do colonoscopy as they suspect sigmoid
colitis
. My stool varies, light brown, very dark brown, diarrhea, but usually either thin and long or small and fluffy.

Newly diagnosed. Looking for advice
I've sadly recently been diagnosed with ulcerative
colitis
. I was suffering 5 years ago with calprotectin score 450 and had a urgent colonoscopy that found polyps and piles which were removed biopsied/ banded. Continued to have on off blood in stools for a few years each time I was blaming piles.

Hope this is a positive support group
I have no teeth; my lymphatic
colitis
makes me dehydrated and because I have heart failure, I pass out in public. I was miserable. My so-called friends were not helpful. My Facebook account got hacked and I don't know how to get it back.

Can mucus in stool be normal?
The ER did a CT scan and the results stated that I had mild inflammation suggestive of
colitis
. I took these results to my PCP who ran bloodwork to look for any inflammatory markers (celiac, chrons, UC, and any autoimmune) everything came back normal.

I do have Ulcerative
Colitis
but this has only been in flare since the end of November. Does anyone know if the “cytoplasmic blebbing” should be a concern? I am struggling with severe fatigue and have had almost daily drenching sweats for over a year (not so much of an issue at night).

little advice from fellow Coeliac’s
My Nan when she was alive had coeliacs and my mom and brother have it also, there is IBD that runs in my family also Crohns &
colitis
. Is it just that I haven’t fully healed yet ? Or could it be refectory or something else ?

Urgency card for endo
I've seen them for crohns and
colitis
and I've seen endo cards explaining you're in pain and need to sit down but I have extreme urgency /painful bowl movements and if I hold anything it makes my endo pain unbearable.

I have unspecified
colitis
. I never knew if I was having pancreas pain, colon pain or both. I was knocked sideways. I've mentioned previously I cannot tolerate Enzymes as I'm allergic to pork and others you can buy are not sufficient enough.

RA Microscopic colitis investigation update.
Well I had the colonoscopy 2 days ago with sedation/gas and air so they say. Me no way 😩 anyway won't go into detail about the test and the bowel prep 😱 4 samples of the colon was taken so now the waiting game for results. At least if the results are positive it can be treated. If you have what seems

Infliximab Infusions Vs Injections
Frustratingly, whilst my current Amgevita (adalimumab) is working well for my
colitis
, it's not helping my joints despite my blood levels all now within normal limits!

Had enough, constant pain
have woken up in such pain today, and been in bed most Of the day. I’ve taken 2 lots of codeine, paracetamol and hot water bottle. I’ve never felt bed bound with this I can usually at least watch tv. I’m on day 4 since having my first Zoladex injection. I’m so fed up of this. Sorry a pointless message

Getting tested for colitis
Hi everyone, I recently spoke to my doctor about some symptoms I’ve been having for a while. For background, I was previously a heavy drinker, drinking around 20 units per day for about 3-4 years straight (I don’t do this anymore, haven’t done for about 7 months). I also used to be a heavy smoker and
