Worried
Hi all, I am constantly worried and I am wondering if anyone else feels the same sometimes. I had cervical cancer 7 years ago. I have a colostomy and an urostomy. I have a fistula which constantly leaks, PTSD and I have recently been diagnosed with radiation enteritis. The fistula leaks all sorts including

Hi all, I'm actually asking this for my uncle as I don't know if he will ask and I feel we need help and support. He has lung cancer - discovered whilst investigating for potential prostate-cancer secondary tumours. A primary lung tumour was removed but the surgeon has said that gold standard treatment

Cancer, My Story
Hi, a 20 year survivor of colon cancer. 15 cms of large intestine resection to small. Would I like to have had the colostomy? I sure would have. Those I know who have had colon cancer do have a better life style than I. Travel, dining out, and social activities are very difficult as I must eat at least

Scared
Hello all, I am constantly scared and worried. I was diagnosed with radiation enteritis in April but I am too scared to eat anything (other than soup or yoghurt) as I really cannot deal with another bowel obstruction. I have 2 stomas (colostomy and an urostomy). The urostomy is fine but the colostomy

CT Promising for Sublobar Resection in Early-Stage Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.
CT features may help identify which patients with stage IA non-small cell lung cancer are optimal candidates for sublobar resection, rather than more extensive surgery. This retrospective study included 904 patients (453 men, 451 women; mean age, 62 years) who underwent lobectomy (n=574) or sublobar

So Scared
Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with radiation enteritis and I am too scared to eat. The doctor told me I need a 3rd stoma and he wouldn’t listen to my concerns. He discharged me because I wouldn’t have a 3rd stoma and refused to give me any diet advice or refer me to a nutritionist. I worry if my

Mucinous adenocarcinoma
Hello I’ve had lower right lobectomy followed by chemo last year. Today I’m going for a follow up chest X-ray and having just looked at the form it’s says T3 Muc. Adeno. I knew I had NSCLC adenocarcinoma. So I’m assuming the MUC is mucinous, which I wasn’t aware of. Does anyone have/had mucinous

When you get fed up and email Mr Bojo Johnson 🤣
Mr Johnson, I’m writing this email in sheer disgust with our NHS and it’s massive failings, that will no doubt, impact the rest of my life! You see, I have a severe chronic disease called Endometriosis, which left me on 3 monthly follow-ups for the last 4-5 years, with absolutely no point whatsoever

Veteran's FYI
I had a right lower lobectomy in Feb of 2019 followed by chemo. I never fully recovered from the procedures. As a matter of fact my breathing became worse after the operation and the muscle fatigue was devastating at times. It could take up to two years to heal I was told. Weight loss was another

They found a 1.9 cm leaning in my spinal cord and now they did a zoom call with Dr Chow whose willing to remove the liaison and then I have a 7 cm tuner in my chest wall that the chemo gemzar did not work so I hope they will get the big one out next but I’m sure chemo first to shrink then radiate, this

Full Hysterectomy with Ovary Removal and Stoma
Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with Endo after failed fertility treatment three years ago at the age of 39. After numerous scans, laparoscopy, MRI and sigmoidoscopy, the option suggested is a full hysterectomy with ovary removal and sigmoid colon resection due to scar tissue thickening a portion of it.

Can anyone help or advise please?
Hi, I've had a swollen thyroid on one side for several months, the ultrasound scan I had in January found it to be about 40mm diameter. I have (as yet) had no symptoms thankfully & all blood tests came back ok so no hypo- or hyper- thyroidism. I had a FNA biopsy in January too & it was found to be "inconclusive

Advice of bowel shaving please x
Hi all, long story short,I'm petrified that my op is going to leave me with a colostomy bag. Stage 4 endo, lap last August,op on 19th April with colon shave I think. If you had this how long is the recovery, I barely eat now because I can't stand the pain. Codeine or tramadol most days, my relationship

The NHS is just dire
So, I phoned the hospital today! Spoke to some woman filling in for my consultants secretary! Explained that I started my period a week last Wednesday, which put me on my arse! My ovary felt like it was going to explode!... And now I’m subsequently getting sicker! This was the response I got! 1) she

End Colostomy
So it looks like endometrial cancer and subsequent brachytherapy resulting in radiation proctitis in my anal canal is going to end up in an end colostomy. Does anyone here have experience of dealing with this please?

Ileostomy questions
I was wondering if anyone could answer any questions that I have. Nothing too serious just some random questions. I have been told by the surgeons that I might be having ostomy surgery. That is all I was told, I have done a lot of research but I am currently waiting on a call from my Gastroenterologist

Anyone else on osimertinib?
Hi, I've met with the oncologist today and been put on osimertinib. Apparently I have an EGFR mutation and it's not curable but this will stop it for a while. I had a lobectomy last year and we thought we'd got rid of the cancer then but it seems not! Is anyone else in a similar situation or have any

Execises for nerve pain?
I'm new here. I had a lobectomy 2 years ago and was feeling great until a year later when I have what I now know is nerve pain. It is constant on my side/back/rib area. Are there exercises specifically to help? I just started taking Lyrica.
