Best check with your oncologist, I am sure they would want to know and they will be able to reassure you.

Catsie you have undergone quite a vigerous procedure and the intial 6 weeks after surgery can be quite arduous but i am sure you will have been given a post procedure number to call should you have any alarming symtoms, some coughing would be quite normal after such a procedure but do give them a call if it persists or you are in anyway concerned.Welcome to the forum.

Yes Catsie, based on my experience it indeed is very much normal, along with sore ribs, pain on the opposite side from where the lobe was removed and bringing up phlegm throughout the day. Concentrate on the positive and do your breathing exercises throughout the day. In my case, I would use the Aerobika passive resistance breathing exerciser while on my iPad or watching television. You will get better, but it will take some time and effort and you will be rewarded. Best Wishes, judg69

Hi Catsie, I had a right lower lobectomy in May of this year, I had an irritating non productive cough for 6 months it has now stopped, I have no breathing issues & I'm feeling fine 👍Hope you can take some comfort in the knowledge that the coughing is to be expected post surgery.

Best wishes & a speedy recovery to you 😊

I had a lobectomy two months ago and gave the same problem. My GP has diagnosed acid reflux. I am taking medication for it and am seeing some improvement.
