At last - recognition of our illness - DLA appeal won whoopi!
Hey all, Just had to have a shout out, because on Saturday 22nd Sept I finally got the letter, that I have been waiting for - after 3 attempts I was finally awarded DLA at lower rate. I still intend to appeal this, because frankly I feel that I had such a strong case, it was cheaper and easier for

How long did it take to come to terms with your condition?
I heard at one of the London forums that it is believed the average time is 2 years! My GP thought I was depressed and sent me on a course of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). My therapist concluded that I was angry (not depressed) at my condition. I used to pretend I never had it! I feel I am now

Help and advice
I have been a sufferer for over 14 years with FM and went through the process of trying everything the docotors asked me to do. I found a lot of the medication gave me cotton wool head or hang over symptons. I eventually got given durogesic patches which for me were life changing as it meant that i could

Introduction!
I am no longer working, due to the
cognitive
impairment
I've had with Parkinson's. I formerly was a software developer and development manager, but over time I found that my executive function skills (problem solving, project management / organization stuff, multi-tasking, etc.) decayed.

Depression
I have always been a head strong, proud, positive, independent person. Throw anything my way I will get over it! Like everyone fought a hard battle, I had all of my stomach and part oesophagus removed. Left living with most of the symtoms I read about, no control of the bowel. I

Remember to congratulate yourself!
I wanted to pass on quite a simple idea, really, but it's one I've found helpful and I think its incredibly important: During recovery, don't forget to congratulate yourself for each step you take! After years of anxiety, I'm happy to say I function well in daily life nowadays, but I often

Has anyone had an initial diagnosis of fibromyalgia?
The pain, fatigue, sleep deprivation,
cognitive
impairment
and if I continue will list all my symptoms, were just too much for me to cope with. I have a follow-up with my pain consultant nurse on 23rd February, and want to discuss this with her. Where do I start? What do I say?

Come for a Ride on my Magic See-Saw
If you have any sense you would decline my offer, I’m not in a good place at the moment, I was going to write about my problems with my teeth but I’ve been given news that somehow trumps a big mouth ulcer caused by trauma ( that’s me digging my incisors into the inside of my front lip ). So my trip to
