HU and prefibrotic myelofibrosis
Recently diagnosed first with ET. put on 500mg hydroxyurea daily with platelets at 617. After bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, diagnosis changed to prefibrotic myelofibrosis. HU had brought platelets down to 270 but I suffered from bad side effects. Dr didn’t want to change med or dosage. I resisted

cirrhosis and symptoms
My husband has been monitored for liver problems for the last few years. He is a very heavy drinker and has been for a long time. I have been with him for 23 years plus. Last year he had an internal bleed though they couldn’t find where it was and was inconclusive. The consultant gastroenterologist

Higher CSF/serum free-T4 ratio is associated with improvement of quality of life during treatment with L-thyroxine
An interesting paper. Note a parallel with Pernicious Anaemia/B12 deficiency in which some have low CSF B12 while having high serum B12. Asking the question, though the answer is almost certan, has anyone ever had their CSF thryoid hormone levels tested? On Twitter: [i]Johannes W. Dietrich @drjwdietrich

Do you tell friends / family
I was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis 2 weeks ago. Still in shock as caused by taking azaphoprine for my ulcerative colitis. Anyway, I haven’t told many people only close friends and no one from work. Then, my partner told his mate down the pub, now I feel really upset and can’t believe he told someone

Has anyone used supplements to compliment medical treatment for PMR? I am considering Evening Primrose Oil alongside steroids.

abdominal ultrasound scan results received
hi everyone, I understand this post is outside of all thing colon and bowel related. However, I’ve been asked to let proole know about my results. Plus, there doesn’t seem to be a hub for abdominal, renal and other related issues. I finally had my scan on 27th April. The results haven’t appeared on

I am 69 yrs old with low heart disease risk and have had diagnosed afib for three years. I believe I was suffering with it for 2-3 years prior but did not address it until I got the classic symptoms of fatigue, dizziness, out of breath, and vision problems. F4: cirrhosis
I was recently diagnosed with F4 Cirrhosis and I'm terrified. I found out by reading my medical record. I was first told that I had Autoimmune Hepatitis after my Fibro scan results and that I needed to start treatment with Imuran and prednisone. GI dr said that if treatment didn't work I would be put

When the drugs don’t work
Where to begin… my poor Mum had her first hip replacement in 2007, but it broke and she had a revision in 2008. Unfortunately she was in more pain than ever, and they were about to write the pain off as psychological but thankfully she got referred to an Orthopaedic Specialist hospital who discovered

CBT OIL ADVICE
In the past I have used CBD gummies purchased at Holland and Barret (in the UK). It helped for a while but I’m guessing any positive effect was mainly psychological. Can anybody in the UK suggest where I can purchase better quality CBD products? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks again.

Question about CBD and Gabapentin
I am wondering if you can take CBD oil orally and Gabapentin at the same time? I am having trouble figuring out my schedule. I take 300 of Gabapentin around 8:30, then 600 around 11:30 so I can try to get in bed around12 or 12:30 PM. How could I incorporate CBD in here? Thank you in advance. PS

Wide QRS WITHOUT Tachcardia
I was mostly Afib free since my ablation in March, 2O22 until August of this year when I had a 4- hour Afib episode. Since then, it has been an almost daily series of a few Afib episodes but showing either “Sinus with supraventricular ectopics” or “Sinus with Wide QRS. My heart rate is always around
