I received a call today from a friend who’ll is also a RLS sufferer who told me she started taking this natural supplement about 17 days ago and up to day 13 didn’t notice any changes in her RLS but for the last 4 days has slept like a baby and is in awe of this supplement,I was wondering if anyone else has tried this and if so with what results ,Iread your posts frequently and I have found them helpful with my RLS both physically and emotionally . Thanks 🙏

Thank you Ringette. I am always looking for substances like this. Per the below article, it sounds like Resveratrol up-regulates our lousy dopamine transport system - at least in females - oddly enough. And that’s exactly what we need. We need up-regulation. If you’re going to try it, I would only take it during the day. Substances that “up-regulate” our dopamine receptors tend to make the “symptoms” of RLS worse until the substance is mostly out of our system. So it’s great that Reveratrol has a short half life. Short term pain for long term gain…I love it. Very interesting article:

Well, I hope you’re avoiding the long-acting substances that make RLS symptoms worse, like SSRIs, HRT and melatonin. Like Resveratrol, these substances may actually up-regulate our dopamine receptors in the long run, but waaay too painful in the short run. Best to avoid them at all costs if you’re pre-disposed to RLS.

I use 50mg of ferrous bisglycinate, on an empty stomach, about an hour before bed. My RLS disappears in one hour, for one night. So must be repeated every night. I do not believe iron up-regulates the dopamine receptors the way that say the Resveratrol might. Iron is to RLS what aspirin is to a headache. And just like aspirin, you must take it right when it’s needed. Since we with RLS have low brain iron stores we rely very heavily on that free-floating serum iron in our bodies (NOT ferritin), which sadly plummets at night. Iron is the grease and glue that keeps people’s dopamine receptors humming along. When serum iron drops at night, we get all out RLS. The non-RLS world is not bothered by this drop because they have normal brain iron stores to fall back on. So night is when you need to take a highly bioavailable form of iron, provided you don’t have an iron overload disorder. Good luck!

You can safely try Resvetatrol as it’s a natural compound, the main sources of it are grapes and red vine.
