Dad, Alzheimer's, copd and prozac
Dad's 82, has copd & Alzheimer's. Has been prescribed Prozac for mood but, after 6 weeks, his breathing is very shallow and rapid. Almost like a panic breathlessness...any ideas please? GP sending him for chest x ray but, after examining him, no crackles or signs of infection. It's very worrying

Pernicious anemia symptoms returned after loading dose of B12!
Hi Everyone, My last loading dose injection of B12 was on 10th June after testing (twice) for a positive intrinsic factor, and slowly my symptoms have return. This weekend I feel awful, with xtreme tiredness, lack of energy, feeling faint, headaches and tinnitus. Please can anyone recommend anything

Intrinsic results back
Hi all.I just got my intrinsic factor test results back. Antibodies 3.47 AU/ml^2 (range 1.2-1.53) Positive. Any tips on what to do next appreciated. I’ve got my endo appointment on the 08/July for the Addisons diagnosis So obviously I’ll need to update him on this result. I’m back to self injecting

Possible B12 deficiency, looking for recommended test list before B12 shot
I ran across someone posting on Reddit who has symptoms that might be from B12 deficiency... tingling, fatigue, etc. He's vegan, his serum B12 tested high, but he's taking daily B12 supplements so his serum test might not be accurate. I recommended trying a B12 shot to see if it helped, but then I

Could anyone recommend a company for IFAB testing please? I've been looking all day, I can only find Medichecks.

Silent reflux or asthma?
I'm undiagnosed - now 3 months post-suspected-Covid, still with laboured breathing, and an "itchy" and often sore chest especially on the right side. I've had 2 chest infections. Most days I'm pretty good in the mornings, then it gets tight after lunch and progressively worse until after dinner. Night

Stomach acid and PPI's
Hi I've, like everyone else with PA, have intrinsic auto antibodies, I've also gastric reflux, a hiatus hernia and chronic gastritis/duodenitis (had more than one gastroscopy done which showed it). I'm being treated with Lanzoprasole, on the orders of my gastroenterologist, for excess stomach acid

Hi 👋
Hi I’m new here and just wanted to ask a bit of advice. Since November last year I’ve had a cough, I went for a chest X-ray came back clear was given antibiotics and flixnase and told it could be postnasal drip. Fast forward to March symptoms not improving and getting worse. I stated taking antihistamines

Does anyone have asthma and COPD overlap syndrome? how common is this syndrome or is it often misdiagnosed?
My GP suspects I may have asthma/COPD overlap. Due to the current pandemic I’m unable to have spirometry test or chest x-Ray. I had asthma as a child and I’m an ex-smoker. My asthma has manifested again in the year. I am worrying whether my breathing will ever be stable again! The only COPD symptom I

Too much b12
Hi All I am a vegetarian/vegan and became b12 deficient around 7 years ago which, in my opinion, was caused by lack of b12 in my diet and my doctor putting me on omaprezole. I have received injections up until April 8 when my surgery cancelled injections and put me on 50 ml tablets twice daily. The only

Well, it's been a rollercoaster of a month for me... my infection did not seem to improve with the removal of the port and the oral antibiotics. The doctor wanted me to go to the ER to get IV antibiotics put into to me. Ordinarily wouldn't mind going to the ER but with a pandemic going on, I was very
