Chest pain

This sounds totally off topic, however I thought it's worth a try!

I suffer with endo, usual symptoms etc. All abdominal, leg pain, lower back etc.

However since Friday I've been suffering with extreme chest pains which is a constant dull aching pain. Then every now and again I get a sharp stabbing pain in one point which goes straight through to my back.

I've been seen at A&E who did a chest x ray and bloods.

I'm in agony and feel like I haven't got anywhere.

Would there be any link to endo and chest pains?

Thanks!! Jo

Hi Joanne, it is extremely difficult to get endo diagnosed in the chest. I have had the same symptoms as yourself to the last 2-3 years and it’s all cyclical but still no firm diagnosis.

Just keep pushing with the doctors is all you can do unfortunately.

I have this every time I ovulate and with period. It feels like my lungs are being crushed with gravel, it’s between chest and thoracic, like it rises up from diaphragm and spreads a weird nervy pain up through right shoulder, neck, face and arm, only on right side. I have tried to explain this to two doctors over many years who pretty much rolled their eyes at me and I thought I was going mad! Only discovered, after surgery to remove a massive ovarian dermoid cyst, that I have endo. When I was coming round from anaesthetic it happened too, the first time I was very happy to be in pain, because it was exactly what I’d been trying to describe. This time it was due to irritation from surgery and gas in abdomen used for keyhole, the anaesthetist warned me this would happen... I was able to pinpoint it being the same... turns out there is quite a link with endo and it may be the inflammation during those times in the month could be that I have endo on the diaphragm. I also found a book called ‘The underachieving ovary’ where she talks about the knife in her shoulder... I was relieved to discover I wasn’t going mad anyway, so thought I’d share :D
