Pegasys is applying for formal approval in MPN treatment
It appears the application is based on published data and existing
clinical
trials
, hence no additional trials are needed (and could potentially reducing the time required for approval?). If approved, Pegasys will no longer be an off-label drug for PV and ET treatment.

Patent given for new approach to Parkinson’s stem cell therapy
“Until now, it has only been possible to develop cells that contain approximately 10% of the desired cells, while with my method I achieve a significantly higher purity,” Denham added, noting that ongoing
clinical
trials
use an older and less efficient method to make dopaminergic neurons.

Bacteria based drug delivery, now this is something I have been following for a while
Still not applied to
clinical
trials
for prostate cancer, more advanced for other kinds of tumors but still a new field. The idea behind it is simple: let's infect cancer with a bacteria that can infiltrate it and release a payload! Salmonella seems to work very well!

Diabetes drug may help slow progression of Parkinson’s – study
“In addition to prompting longer and larger
clinical
trials
, these results show that a more quantitative understanding of the mechanism of action of GLP-1 agonists may reveal one or more therapeutic targets for the development of more potent drugs to treat Parkinson’s disease.”

Does anyone have CtDna blood test added In their monitoring routine?
I do alot of reading of
clinical
trials
and medical journals. I found this CtDna blood test that SUPPOSEDLY detects cancer cells in the blood up to 10 months sooner than a Petscan.

Vitamin D and Anemia: Insights into an Emerging Association
In summary, there is strong evidence both epidemiologically and mechanistically to support a role for vitamin D in iron metabolism, but further
clinical
trials
are needed to clarify the therapeutic efficacy of vitamin D in improving anemia.

"AF Duration? Another big story from 2023"
We are always hoping for more randomized
clinical
trials
(RCT's) to give us real-life data about the risks and rewards of various treatments, and I appreciate that this EP/cardiologist is spending time watching, analyzing, and critiquing these AF-related studies as they come out.

I see there have been some posts about
clinical
trials
either stopping or reducing days it’s taken. I would really appreciate any feed back. My story is I’ve got really good bloods now and have been taking ibrutinib for 4 years, and what a miracle it’s been.
