prednisolone withdrawal
Hi I dropped from 7.5mg to 7 yesterday and by late afternoon tender area on scalp started. I know that it’s been said before that if this happens straight away it’s usually down to withdrawal and if it’s days later a flare. I can’t lay on that side, paracetamol hasn’t done anything and I’m awake at silly

update on my wrist pain.
I am 77 years old and I've had PMR for 6 years. I'm now at 2mg. prednisone. (up from .75....ah, I was so hopeful a year ago) and over the last 3 months have been waking up with terrible pain in hand and thumb and wrist. Primary doc sent me for an EMG which showed moderately severe (whatever that means

Strange bunch of chronic conditions?
I was able to stop afib occurrences and most ectopics, mostly from losing weight, becoming vegan, and cutting back on meds. I have CKD (chronic kidney disease) which benefits from a vegan diet. Also lupus, which caused hemolytic anemia. My kidney scores are better now, almost normal, but I'm a little

On slow drop but having back pain again. Pred withdrawal or DOMS.
Started on prednisolone in March 2019 and pmr was managed well, apart from needing to go up a little after vaccinations. The bi valent covid booster in Oct '22 when down to 6.5mg or so kicked my immune system it seems, so had to go back to starter dose of 15mg unfortunately. See previous posts.Using

My PMR is basically gone, but now I got shingles on my right side of face.
All the drugs I took, take lowers my immune system. No prednisone anymore, but Methotrexate lowers immune response. About 4 days ago, got shingles on my face and forehead. It is super pain, bad pain. Before the shingles, I felt like my eyes were infected, eyes and skin all red and sore. Pain not quite

Does anyone take pantoprazole with MtX?
During this weekend I have had a bad pain in my esophagus. I get that from time to time, probably due reflux caused by the prednisolone and PMR, as it is worse during a flare. I usually take pantoprazole a couple of days and it heals up fast (doctor's prescription). However - now I am on MtX since

Travel
Morning all, hope you can help me , I'm travelling to Kenya in November I've just seen on the government website that if your taking steroids ie prednisolone you maynot be able to have the yellow fever vaccination. Is this correct has anyone travelled to Kenya with this issue. I'm taking 6mg a day .

Lepto meningeal involvement. No further treatment. Palliative radiation?
Spouse 10 weeks post Pluvicto and about to embark on a Hail Mary trial of androgen receptor degrader. But yesterday's brain MRI showed spread to dura and leptomeninges. So my lovely light and love of my life is coming to the end of the road we have walked, too briefly, together. Oncologist has already

Swollen ankles after periodontal surgery
Had some minor gum & bone surgery to prepare tooth for a crown & subsequently have swollen ankles, making it difficult to walk. Asked the periodontal surgeon if inflammation from procedure is causing RA ankle swelling/flare & he says, "Coincidental". Rheum says any injury, infection, stress

Stopped taking prednisolone
My PMR journey started December 2019. As covid started soon afterwards and there was no support from the local surgery, Health Unlocked was an absolute godsend. I would therefore like to say a big thank you for the helpful feedbacks received and really did appreciate all the replies for peace of mind

Methotrexate or Prednisone which is more damaging?(also update on eyes)
Hi, it's me again. During an eye exam, I was told my optic nerve was narrow, and that I needed to be seen asap due to the risk of blindness with GCA. I got in to see a neuro ophthalmologist who told me that my optic nerve isn't narrow, it's just turned on an angle. Probably from my connective disease

SHOULD I GO UP
I started my 20mg of prednisone 2days ago. I’m still quite achy. Although I can get by during the day. . Should I try going up a little or just be patient and see if I need a couple more days? To get in touch with my doctor who doesn’t seem to know as much as I do because I’ve had this before a few

Moved from Abi to Nubeqa and saw a PSA increase
I recently switched from Abiraterone/Prednisone to Nubeqa because of the high blood pressure that I had with Abi requiring additional BP meds. I was previously .058 a month ago when I switched and .109 today, almost double in a month. Any one with experience with this switch?

Pain everywhere.
I've been 10+ yrs searching for answers. I had some bladder problems in 2013. Doctors did surgery. I almost died. Apparently they told me my blood vessels looked funny. They didn't know if they "knicked " me or what but I lost 8 pints of blood very quickly. They barely got me transfusion in time. I chalked

cataracts b.c. of long-term steroids
Does anyone know what the symptoms of cataracts developing are, after long-term use of inhaled steroids and/or prednisolone? I've heard cataracts are common symptoms, and I wonder how one knows one is developing them. I've been on Trimbow 172.5 for 6 months and on 2 mg prednisone for 2.5 years; prior
