Prescription for Pred has been cancelled
I am currently on Week 5 of a 7-week taper from 1mg to 0.75mg. This morning I logged on to my surgery’s website and realised that my repeat prescription for Pred had been cancelled, presumably by the GP in the practice who advised “no further suppression required” after I received the result of my basal

Burning sensation. Tapering prednisolone to 3mg
Anyone had this feeling? Coping well whilst tapering and on 3mg for at least 2 months from 4mg. Not reducing whilst I feel unwell. Symptoms intense burning within my body, yet not sweating, and normal temperature, then go cold in limbs. Never felt so ill and A & E 9 days ago checked all vitals as

degenerate spine pain and steroids
a simple question that’s in my mind, but hubby with chronic pain (either arthritis in the hip and/or pain from his degenerative spine) I just wonder why Prednisolone isn’t offered as a pain relief med?

PMR headaches - is it the Prednisolone?
Hi there I was diagnosed with PMR 10 weeks ago with classic symptoms: excruciating pain in arms, shoulders, legs with increasing immobility during the day and totally immobile in bed at night. My CRP was 28 and ESR 36. Was put on 15mg Pred for 4 weeks - got rid of the pain but I starting getting mild

Waiting diagnosis/meds
Hi all, happy Saturday. Since March I have been experiencing dreadful aches and pains in my arms wrists shoulders and hands to the point I thought I'd broken my wrists. A trip to the doctor resulted in a referral to rheumatology and series of blood tests where it seemed my ESR and CRP were raised,

collagen supplement
Having PMR since 2021 my Hair has now given up and become a wavy mess. I am on 6.5 of Prednisolone and have had a few flares. I wanted to know has anyone tried collagen supplement it is supposed to be good for hair and nails. Will this have any effect on steroids or my PMR. I don’t want to make this

Tingling hands, arm and leg occurrence at 5 mg slow tapering, in my 3rd year since PMR diagnosis.
Has anyone had this experience please?I'm familiar with tingling in my left hand since carpal tunnel surgery some years ago, so when this started in my right hand, I gave it little attention. However the tingling started in my left arm and left leg only yesterday and there is a slight feeling of numbness

Recurring symptoms, bit panicky
I've already posted once when I was first diagnosed with GCA and got loads of good advice, info, reassurance. So grateful. The problem now is that after 12 days on Prednisolone 50mg the headaches started to come back and jaw pain. I wrote in my previous post that an on call doctor came out on the Saturday

Advice
Can anyone advise if it is best to persevere without prednisolone when still in pain or should we take a small dose to try to keep the inflammation under control.

Asthma flare ups
I am on Fostair, 2 puffs twice a day and up to 8 puffs a day as per asthma plan as required. I have been prescribed Prednisolone several times after flare ups. I do get perfect relief from the steroids, but after a couple of weeks the asthma rears it`s ugly head again. I wonder if the inhaler could

Stopping Prednisolone
Hi everyone, I have been taking Prednisolone for 3.5 years with hardly any problems during reduction. I am now on .5mg and have been for the last 6 weeks with no problems. Just a quick question, should I just stop taking them now or wait a little longer?

Moon face...
I've been steadily reducing prednisolone for GCA since September last year and had not really worried about the weight issue as I was more concerned about my sight and other side effects. However I am now down to 4 mg a day and am appalled by my moon face and what looks like a buoyancy aid around my

Hydroxychloroquine
Wonder if I could have advice please. My husband was given a course of prednisolone and at the same time given Hydroxychloroquine and Omeprazole. He's now finished the prednisolone. Were the Omeprazole to protect his stomach against the steroid? Or does he need to keep taking them with the Hydroxychloroquine

When other people's opinions Count
Well, it's a few months since reducing pred gradually. It's 3 years since diagnosis and a few years more suffering this condition unknowingly. It has to be said that Prednisolone does have serious consequences over time in larger doses, but it also enables us to function. I have lost a staggering amount

Lethargy!
Hi, after 5 & a half years, I have been off prednisolone for around 2 months now. Yes, I am experiencing aches & pains but not the same as I had at the beginning of my PMR/GCA journey…old age at 75 I guess & nothing that paracetamol won’t cure! But what is really getting me down is lack of energy & motivation

Flare or adrenal insufficiency.
I’ve been tapering slowly using the DSNS method and am currently going from 7mg to 6mg. I feel a bit of discomfort especially in bed in the morning and seem to have a stiff neck all the time. I can still function fairly well although I do feel tired after doing anything. Do you think this is due to too

reducing/stopping Omeprazole
I have been taking 20 mg of Omeprazole a day since start of Prednisolone originally 40mg 4months ago after GCA diagnosis. I am now reducing and at 9 mg of Prednisolone. I want to come off the Omeprazole as soon as I can ,or try to. My GO appointment is in a months time but I am pretty sure he will be
