Lots of reading to do, chest x-ray, feet x-ray, blood tests .......
Hello everyone, well I got myself all psyched up with list in hand to see Rheumy Doc this morning. I was determined to ask some questions about my high Das score and talk about my painful feet and ankles, but it was the Clinical Nurse who called me into her room and not the doctor. She is a lovely person

Is the NHS really that bad?
I don't know how many of us can say we have never complained or been irritated by either the care we receive or the length of time we have to wait to be seen or receive treatment, I know I cant. Last night, I watched a documentary and there was something in it that made me think an awful lot since

Chest X Ray results
Hi, I went to the Dr last week as I had become quite short of breath (for no apparent reason) She said my chest was clear but I should have a chest Xray as I hadn't had one for 2 years, she also said my oxygen levels as OK Results came back saying my Xray was the same as it was in 2010. Not sure

And Now, I have started to panic again
Hi, Was doing pretty well until I had a realization and that has sent my head into a spin. I have not yet had my grading of my COPD but it occurred to me that it was diagnosed by chest x ray. And it is that which has sent me into a panic. To my knowledge, only more severed COPD can be seen on

Anxious and Scared - positive help please
Hi, When my 82 year old mother was diagnosed with lung cancer a year ago, I cared for her for the 5 months until she passed away in July 2012 - so when she was gone I decided I really needed to check out my own lungs after many years of thinking it was probably just about getting older that I struggled

Thank you for your help so far, but sadly...
First things first, I'd like to extend a massive "THANK YOU!" to everyone who has helped me so far; I have trouble typing out replies - let alone these messages! - on a phone with dodgy 3G, so I'm sorry my gratitude has been so delayed. Recently I thought I was doing pretty well for myself. Many of

COPD or not COPD!
I was diagnosed with Asthma 3 years ago (in my early 50's) with no spirometry test just a nurse looking at me when I was breathless. Couple of winters proved difficult and have had nebulisers to get me through them. 3 years on, a change of doctor, a chest x-ray that said everything was ok and a spirometry

Hi everyone I have had asthma for many years and was diagnosed with mild COPD about 2 years ago and my question is
Should I have been offered a chest X-Ray or a CAT scan etc. when I was diagnosed to see any damage done to my lungs? I was diagnosed by my asthma nurse via a spirometry and peak flow test. She said my lung age was 89 which meant I was in the COPD range. I have never seen a doctor (for diagnosis) or

Asthma Advice??
I don't feel like typing that much, but ever since last year, I've been having really bad asthma. I mean, I never even used to use my preventer, or hardly have to use my ventolin, but now I'm using it at least daily. I was on prednisone for a very short time which did not do much except worsen my GERD

First Visit to Rheumatologist
Well after being diagnosed with GCA several months ago I had my first visit to a Rheumatologist. Well I will admit to feeling very anxious but I had first class treatment - spoke with the Registrar who took all the details regarding my medical history and then me gave a thorough examination. She seemed

Chest X-ray (lungs) ?
I am experiencing some discomfort when I breath. I now remember being sent for a chest x-ray when I was diagnosed and was told it was to look at my lungs. Does anyone know why this may have been done?

I had come home from a wonderful 2 week holiday in Spain with my wife. I felt refreshed and relaxed ready for the working months ahead. With the aim to earn enough to pay the bills and think of where to go next year for our holiday. At least that was the plan and like most well laid plans, things
