Scarring on lungs
I saw my gp today, my results from my repeat chest x-ray has come back. I have scarring on my lungs. Pulmonory fibrosis I think its call. I'm in my 30s, had tb when I was 9. The pulmonary fibrosis is the reason I had a 5 month long dry cough.

Last Week - Redoing week 5
Since I ended up only being able to do one run of week 5 last week due to being in London one day and my phone ringing off the hook all morning on another day, I've decided to start week 5 over and do it this week instead. (whoo, run on sentence!) Doing this puts me a full week behind, but it just

Can anyone help - my friend has some worrying symptoms and she asked me to ask you all for any advice
She has just had her first round of tests that show a positive for lupus. She hasn't seen the rheumy yet. My friend writes: "I live in Weston-Super-Mare, the hospital I was taken to is Weston General and I haven't been able to see a rheumatologist there despite asking... and ending up there twice!

When I were a girl……
That’s a phrase I would often hear when I was a kid, if ever I started to complain about something, that phrase would come out along with tales of find your way around in Manchester smog, post-war rationing, bed-sharing with older sisters and other such tales of growing up in a working class northern

I have recently discovered I have COPD and want to share my thoughts with you. Please read my below comments. Thank you for your help.
It is only by chance that I came across the health unlocked site which I found in the course of my looking for a reasonable answer. I am 84 years old and for the last 4 years I have been complaining of shortness of breath. My cardiologist who is monitoring my condition after I went through an aorta dissection

Does anyone have any experience of paraneoplastic syndromes, or on how to raise concerns you stumble across with medical experts?
As a bit of background, My dad was diagnosed with stage 2 nsclc on 20 June and is due to go for a lobectomy on 24 July. The surgeon has explained he has to take a look with a camera first before committing to the full surgery as he needs to know if the fluid showing on his lung contains cancer cells

THANKS FOR BEING THERE
My lovely family & friends, To those of you with whom I met recently it must have been obvious that my health is taking a dive - hopefully temporary. Having your love & support has helped keep me going. At the moment I am having bouts of severe pain which causes me to be a pain. Last night we had to

Shingles And Meningitus!
My name is Ana and I am 50 year old English lass. I am currently working in Atlanta Georgia (USA). When I was back in England in march I had indigestion pains in my upper chest. They came and went. Then on April 13th I had a wee itch on my right shoulder blade. I thought it was a thread from my shirt

Dad diognosed with lung cancer.
My dad had been coughing for a while and recently coughed up blood. He went for a chest x-ray which showed up 2 shadows on he's left lung. He went for a CT scan and had a bronchoscopy. The results were that he has lung cancer and it is close to he's heart so they can't operate. Theres another hospital

Get it checked!
We all know that one of the symptoms of lung cancer is having a cough that doesn't go away after a few weeks, and that RCLCF encourages folk with this or other symptoms, to get it checked out. I'm not very good at taking advice, but I do know that the Foundation's advice is always GOOD! Having had

My APS experience - hopefully I'm not alone!
Hi, I would like to hear from anyone who may have had a similar experience to mine. (Apologies if this is repeat of what others may have written but I have found it quite therapeutic to write). I am a 36 year old female who began suffering strange symptoms during my first pregnancy 2 years ago (an

What a year! Just been diagnosed with extensive bronchiectasis, asthma, sinus disease and now, MAC. The latter is caused by mycobacteria entering the lungs.
