My Latest lipid profile shows cholesterol level 281 and triglycerides as 686.I am just 30 and is very conscious about fat intake.somebody can help me to find out the reason.
High cholestrol and Trigliceriods - Diabetes India
High cholestrol and Trigliceriods
5.3",71 kg,athletic build.
Doctor not telling any specific reason....points to hereditary.
Taking lipaglyn and D-rozavel20 mg from 25 days
What are your BS levels? What is full lipid profile? Have you previously tested lipids ? What do you usually eat?
Fat consumption is not directly related to lipids.
Recently tested for Hba1c as 5.2,so which I think healthy range.lipid profile is as
Cholesterol-281,
TG-686,HDL-26,LDL-97,VLDL-137,
Eating asBreakfast-milk cornflakes/oats/sometimes roti daal, lunch-2 roti with sabzi, cucumber and curd,
Night-2-3 roti-sabzi and salad and milk in night.2-3 tea everyday with very little snakes as biscuit or rusk etc.
Ghee for nameshake with roti.
You are eating too much carbs. If your condition is not genetic then carbs reduction will help in lowering TG.
Avoid processed food items like cornflakes, biscuits, bakery products etc. You are not eating necessary fat and protein.
How I can I find out wether it is genetic or diet induced.can you please suggest some diet plan to follow
First start to lower your carb intake. Then gradually you have to replace it with protein and fat. For fat you can start with virgin olive oil, almonds, peanuts. Then slowly you can add cheese, paneer, virgin coconut oil to your diet.
I don't know whether test for genetic disorder is easily available. Genetic condition can be treated only with medicines and diet will have negligible impact.
Thanks
Reduce carb drastically.Replace with VCO,Salads, almonds, flaxseed, wall nut.Avoid processed food.Intake of high fat is not directly related with high cholesterol and TG. Gradually reduce carb and statins (Rozavel).Substitute with good fat. Your TG will decrease with increase of HDL. Thanks.
