I had an AVM bleed on April 25,2013. I had an embolization done on the main feeder too many to seal so I had Gamma Knife in September 2013. Bye, bye sciatica
I can't believe this, but after two months of severe and unrelenting pain, my sciatica has gone away. If not 100 percent, pretty darn close. And guess what? It happened after I saw a chiropractor. I was so skeptical about going, but I was also desperate for relief. He slammed me around on his table a

W4R3 repeating tomorrow
I’m finding it tough going.... I feel heavy and tight and feel like I’m taking tiny strides. I started C25K because I’m stiffening up and am very unfit. Currently going to chiropractor and doing stretches. I’m 58, have I left it too late? 🥺

Hello, i've been having tourette like tics and verbal tics for a few months now they were small and brief then progressed. Along with walking real bad. After so many visits to the psychiatrists and neurologists, I have seen a difference in my body and brain. It didn't come from them it came from

Chiropractor and a flare?
Hello everyone I have just been very interested to read today’s posts about Bowen therapy and other ‘alternative’ practitioners. I have had shoulder and back pain for over a month (an old complaint I don’t think is connected to my 4.5-year-old PMR), so in desperation 3 weeks ago I went to a chiropractor

New PMR patient with general concerns
Just joined the group after been diagnosed with PMR. I've been very healthy and active. Six years ago, I had a knee injury. For some reason, at the time I didn't know, my shoulders, neck, arms, wrists, hands, and feet were inflicted by pain I never experienced. I thought it was associated with a bad

The latest on my battle with sciatica
Hello, everybody, and just let me say I've been so encouraged by the many kind replies I've had to all my posts. After the failed MRI, my doctor prescribed REAL pain meds. I know all about the dangers, but damn, they do help with the pain. We try the MRI again tomorrow. I will get all doped up and give

Blood Thinners (Just kidding BobD) - Anticoagulants and Pain Management
I am wondering what those living on anticoagulants do to manage pain. It seems most OTC pain medicines are contraindicated when on anticoagulants. I have been pestering my doctor to take me off Eliquis so I can take Ibuprofen again (dealing with sever lower back pain at the moment) but BobD, CD and some

question for anyone with chronic back pain
Does anyone know any good inexpensive products that take the edge off of back pain? i’ve looked into back braces, posture correctors and compression garments (i need extra support or as my chiropractor likes to say- “most people need wd-40 but you need duct tape”) on amazon but I don’t know what brands

What a ride..
Despite things not always being super easy right now, I feel very accomplished and hopeful today. Moms 3d MRI showed no other brain tumors, and her Gamma Knife radiation is scheduled for this Friday afternoon. We don't have a set date for her to resume immunotherapy since she has to be tapered off of

I’ve been dithering around with the idea of going for gait analysis for quite some time, but after a trip to the podiatrist with my really not nice feet and to the chiropractor about the niggle in my inner right knee and left glute, I was told in no uncertain terms that it really would be a good idea

Handling Emotional Pain Part 2
The McTimony
chiropractic
dealt with certain things that Alexander Technique was unable to deal with. I put the clinical depression removal to the removal of pain and the getting of more sleep by the McTimony Chiropractor.

Not in my Plan! ☹️
It wasn’t the running! It was somewhere in my (over)enthusiastic gardening. Something went not so much “ping” as “sprong” and now, no running! Humph, 😨 and grrrrr. Wendy the Wonder Working Chiropractor has had a good go and says soothing things about walking first and then trying a little jog. And

Alternative treatment, ie Thai massage
Hi, has anyone tried Thai massage for wear and tear symptoms and how useful was it? Its just that we have a cleaner who recommends it when she had treatment for neck pain. She said that nhs physio, chiropractor and osteopathy had'nt worked previously but the Thai practitioner 'knew' what the problem

Seeking help for treating infrequent but devastating Brainstem/Hemiplegic/Vestibular migraine symptoms
Hello, I am new here and looking to speak with anyone that has experienced Basilar (Brainstem) Migraines combined with Hemiplegic or Vestibular Migraines. I'd love to get your take on how best to seek treatment as my episodes are infrequent but devastating--as in temporarily locked-in. I'm still recovering

Empty
I had a “good” day today but feel more empty than happy. Had my 2nd appt with my new counselor that went really well. Met up with 2 of my old co-workers for lunch. Went out for ice cream with my husband. Went to a chiropractor appt. Have been resting/watching tv the rest of the afternoon and night.
