Bye, bye sciatica

I can't believe this, but after two months of severe and unrelenting pain, my sciatica has gone away. If not 100 percent, pretty darn close. And guess what? It happened after I saw a chiropractor. I was so skeptical about going, but I was also desperate for relief. He slammed me around on his table a couple of times and -- presto -- pain is gone. If it sounds to good to be true, I agree. So now I'm off to see the orthopedic guy who did the MRI. I'm not sure what I will tell him, but for right now I don't want an epidural, and certainly not surgery. Now, I realize the sciatica could return as quickly as it vanished, but nevertheless, it's gone at the moment. Now, if only he could do something about my COPD!

It's common knowledge that sciatica will eventually go away on it's own. So did the chiropractor cure you, or did he just have the timing right? I don't suppose you will know unless it comes back again (heaven forbid) it which case I'm certain he will be your first port of call. 😉 Whatever, what joy you must be feeling. 🙂

That thought did occur to me, @Don-1931, but I think it would be just too coincidental. When I saw the orthopedic doc today and he showed me the MRI results I was surprised that he thought the chiropractor was a good idea.

Hi RedSox, Pete’s not too bad thank you. His back is no better and the stimulator doesn’t make any difference. I’m thinking of getting CBD oil.

Hope you’re well and thank you for asking after Pete. Xxxx

sassy59 I have been remiss in that I promised you I would report back on my experiment with CBD oil and sleep. Conclusion: Not really sure. May have helped some, but it's only been two nights. Also, I'm not just a poor sleeper; I am a horrendously poor sleeper. Give it a whirl with Pete.

Hi Hun, I saw a programme on TV about CBD Oil bought in Holland & Barrett and their conclusion was that because of regulations in The UK , the Oil is so Diluted it doesn't have the Strength in it, The Programme was with Angela Ripon, I still wanted to try it , hence why I was waiting for your reaction to it. I hope it works for you, maybe give it a bit longer! XXXX

I believe it can only contain 1% of the actvive ingredients

Thanks Hun, would 1% make any Difference?

1% Not really ,but thats the eu or english law as i understand it , ive not looked into it tbh and no one wants to break the law but if you can get stronger ( from what ever source) and it does help with pain or stress then in that situation the law knows where it can go take a leap off , proper clinical trials need to be done and this stigma of the word cannabis needs to be removed , friends of mine years ago were praising the therapeutic aspects of cannabis

I am pleased your sciatica has gone now as it is very painful. My mother got this from standing on a table wall papering a age 67! She was in agony for months until she had half a dozen chiropractor sessions and they managed to free the nerve. It never came back either. x

@RedSox, yes you did recommend a chiropractor. You are a wise man. One of my problems with COPD is that I often feel light-headed, almost as if I'm going to pass out. Do others have that symptom, I wonder?

I do at times and can’t really tie it to anything, just comes and goes.

I notice closing my mouth and nose breathing helps overcome the light headedness. It’s difficult at first but relax and it gets better.

I’m so pleased for you let’s hope it doesn’t come back. If is does I’d be at the chiropractor as soon possible.

Hi challny, so glad to hear that your visit to the chiropracter has done the trick. I had a problem years ago and went to visit an osteopath in Ashton and this went on my second visit, remarkable how they can release a nerve. Hope you will now enjoy the painfree weekend x

Great news for you. No pain, I have great faith in chiropractors and physios with regards to relieving trapped nerves, muscle problems etc You may need one or two more sessions however take care . x Also I could do with some positive feedback about how to sleep all night - my body doesn't seem to like to sleep anymore and I'm collecting all the viruses around
