BLUE SAFETY GLASSES

Hello, i've been having tourette like tics and verbal tics for a few months now they were small and brief then progressed. Along with walking real bad. After so many visits to the psychiatrists and neurologists, I have seen a difference in my body and brain. It didn't come from them it came from a chiropractor.

Here in the USA the health care system is very screwed up. Not all doctors take insurance coverage here, but they will see you if you have the coin. The previous doctors told me its a psych problem. Im a mechanic by trade and diagnose things. I analyze and monitor, also perform surgery on machines.

I've always thought this condition is physical and less psychological, although both together with reacting to experiences.

I wore blue glasses in the chiropractors office and he did some fingure to nose tests and my tics went away!

So I want to say that pills i've taken, visits and suggestions i've taken, but none have sat down to run some neuro tests until he came. So I say this. If none of your symptoms improve after so many visits, then chances are they arent doing things right. If you have tics like me try blue safety glasses.

Also if your doctors don't know don't keep going to them. Don't waste your time. My tics havent stopped completely nor my FND but its a sign things. show theres more to this condition than mental

How do blue glasses help? What’s the science behind it?

in reply toAjaStar

It seems that the different colors have a reaction with the filter in our brain that filters nerve impulses

Be really interested to try this as my shakes/tics have been bad last few months... I still can’t drive at night as the lights etc cause me to shake worse. Hubby just googled this ( good old google) and I work with computers so this makes a lot of sense, so I’ll definitely look into blue glasses, thank you

Wish I could still drive, I tried it the other day because I was feeling good physically, but after a few minutes I started feeling that dumb feeling in my head. Keeping track of the cars and lights and gas pedal and pedestrians was obviously too much for my brain to handle. I was very disappointed cause I miss driving so much. I miss that freedom. I’m glad for you that you can still drive during the day.

It took me ages before being able to drive and thankfully I had a paddock to try in, so could just practice for a minute then rest etc... it took ages before I could focus on the road without losing focus if I looked out the window. I still don’t drive more than half hour and not at night but the best thing I did was my brain focus exercises. I have 4 x X’s on my fridge which still to this day, I look at, in different directions teaching my brain to not take in surrounding things. I keep my body and head straight and just move eyes. First few times I was so ill as now have vertigo but it was the best thing for me in getting back to driving... I’m lucky the shops are 3 mins away though. I hope after this long-winded story this trick might help you as well xx

My physical therapist has me looking at a letter on the wall and moving my head up and down like nodding yes for a minute and then side to side like saying no, all the while keeping eyes focused on that letter. I’m telling you something simple like that gets me feeling weak and dumb in the head and slurring my speech. It’s for dizziness therapy. As for your four Xs what positions are they in, is it like corners of a square?

in reply toAjaStar

Just to share my tics and spells while walking get more active I have to stop and regroup before continue to walk again. Just like the therapist I have a feeling that when we put our mental energy more on focusing our brains really don't like it. Good question is, is how much is good and how much is over board is it progress or is it a sign of our condition progressing?

I wonder too. Is it good if my brain gets to that point, does it mean I’m exercising it and it’s gonna get stronger or am I making it worse? Don’t know

My shakes/tics are surprisingly the opposite in that as soon as I relax they go wild... the obvious noise and flashing lights are the worst as arms fling up as well but yesterday I had a big day with meetings etc and was brilliant until the afternoon when my body could move but brain telling me I couldn’t and been dodgy since. All week I’d been walking heaps and the best I’d been so maybe it is my body saying I’ve gone overboard with things 😞

The tics happen like yours too. I'd be draining oil from a truck, mopping and such (still have tics). Then I sit and drink, and bam loud tics or jerking. My theory is that the brains energy is being used and focused. But it doesnt know how to relax anymore glitches in the software.

I just have the X’s one north east south west not too far apart. Just laminated with magnets on back. Cheap and easy, I can stand close or further apart to do the eye exercises, but yes I think at first it should be called dizziness therapy 😂.

You're welcome. I use them during the day at work or at night. The glasses dull out any light like sun glasses but for some reason the dark blue lenses work. Red ffg or me, complete opposite and light blue doesnt work

Will also get my neurologist to check into it too when eventually I get an appointment 😉

Anything to make things easier....

So you can buy these blue glasses in pharmacies or eyeglasses stores? I wear sunglasses all the time even in winter when it rains and sometimes at night. I used to wonder if that was what messed me up in the first place because my first symptoms of FND was blurry vibrating vision and seeing things in a green tint and sometimes red tint. Eye doctor said my eyes were fine, that it must be neurological.

Fascinating how the brain works. If you get glasses before me, let me know how you go as I can’t do anything for another week, relapse last night means doing nothing this weekend; so I’ll be ok for work on Monday... I had bad vision too before this but no colour tint. I think mine were more hallucinations, seeing none existent things out of corner of my eyes but I too got all clear from eye specialist... live to hear how you get on Aja Star. Anyway I’m so glad you brought this up Matthew in the first place as we all need any tips that can make life just that bit easier with this

These are blue safety glasses used protect against high beam lasers. I found them on Amazon for 10 us dollars.

Thanks for responding. 😃 So does that means it helps our neuro connections, cause I’ll go get me a pair right now?

in reply toAjaStar

It's very much neuro connections I dont road test vehicles any more than 20 mph 20 mph and I'm not on the road anymore than 5 to 10 at a time but it helps my tic be more calm.
