Looking for Insight

I had an AVM bleed on April 25,2013. I had an embolization done on the main feeder too many to seal so I had Gamma Knife in September 2013. Since then I have had pain which increases when my head bends down. I have tried everything you can think of from acupuncture,oxygen therapy,... We found that my head does not stay on the atlas so going to a chiropractor and getting it adjusted does lessen the pain it doesn’t resolve the problem but it helps. We just did a lumbar puncture to see if reducing the CSF might help. I have gotten to where my head doesn’t feel like someone is squeezing it but it has not resolved the problem. I am looking for any suggestions or thoughts anyone might have. I appreciate any help someone may have.

This may not apply Nks but, as you've mentioned an atlas misalignment, it made me think of a possible spinal cause. When severe headaches continued after I had meningitis some years ago, X-rays showed serious wear & tear of the cervical area of the spine (Spondylosis) and I was told the only treatment available was pain meds and a cervical collar to relieve pressure from the weight of my head.

The collar does help the pain by restricting movement of the neck, and freeing trapped blood vessels and nerves, but the headaches are always worse after a period without it, especially after bending as in housework/gardening. Nowadays of course there's a surgical option.

……….just thinking aloud really, but might be worth considering ? I know you're looking at Gkn as the culprit but maybe coincidence shouldn't be ruled out.

Thank you cat3. I really appreciate your thoughts. I wear a neck brace especially after being adjusted. It helps.
