Grunting
Grunting like catching a breath 2-3 times a day. On palliative care anyone had experience of this?

Checking in with an update
I see it is 5 months since we last posted. We don't look back or forward with this awful, energy sapping, debilitating disease we just survive. Each day has it own risks and its own delights. Ch is almost bedridden now. He sleeps a lot more. We have help in on Monday (3hr break for me) Friday (a 4hr

Cirrhosis update
Well here I am again, not quite sure what I’m doing most of the time but still plodding along. Dad has stage 4 cirrhosis and as most of you know comes with a whole host of problems. I feel slightly more at ease this week then I have. He had a fall 2 weeks ago out of bed, spent 41/2 hours waiting for

Second Clinical Trial:
After consulting with our oncologist in Virginia, our former trial study doc, NIH, and Georgetown University, my husband has decided to participate in another clinical trial at Georgetown. This study has two arms, and he will be in the monotherapy only, Part 2 group, if accepted. This part of the study

Reminder from Simone
Hello everyone. Simone also reminded me that I hadn't posted for 4 years. At that time my daughters condition worsened, she couldn't stand, was regularly falling on her head, and became unable to live on her own. Social workers most of whom did not understand the condition Ataxia, and against my pleading

PALLIATIVE CARE
Feeling very naked and exposed, Peeps has spent most of September in the Liver Unit at London Bridge Hospital but has finally been sent home to die. There is nothing more that can medically be done. He is now subject to Palliative Care at home with the help of the GP, District and Hospice Nurses but

Palliative Care
Has anyone experienced palliative care. I think I need help with cognition, my extreme debilitating side-effects (musculoskeletal) if I/F combo (which is worse on week off Ibrance), maybe anxiety & insomnia & some social anxiety issues I’m having due to loss of cognition. I am also having a brain

Lost my mom to MSA
Hello everyone A month ago I lost my mom (55) to MSA. She had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2014 and was later diagnosed with MSA. Well, at least that's what they think. We still aren't 100 % sure. It has been a rough couple of years, watching her getting worse and worse. It started with

Sidewhacked by Richter’s transformation twice: epilogue
About 5 short weeks ago I posted about my hubby being sidewhacked by RT for the 2nd time. His treatment using R-GDP was deemed best and he received 1 cycle. He had several bouts of confusion subsequently with a bleed in the brain as the likely culprit due to his low platelets. Alas, a head CT scan revealed

In Hospice as of now.
My second attempt at setting up palliative/hospice care happened yesterday with a visit from the intake nurse from the new agency. She told me when she was still doing field work she had three cases of PSP. She actually knew something about the disease. I felt like this was the place we should be. Someone

Dad is losing his battle.
I’m so scared. Dad is getting palliative care at home. Every day he is deteriorating. New challenges. He’s breathless, low Hb, low platelets, fluids in his pleural cavity, lymph nodes are swollen, oedema, he coughs all the time. I’m besides myself with anxiety. I can’t bear to see him like that. This
