The Paul Briggs Story
Every so often a case comes before a court that highlights why a universal, common sense approach to recording people's health and care preferences, values and wishes could save enormous anxiety. This is the story of Paul Briggs. A court is being asked to decide whether he can be allowed to die. I wouldn't

Eleven Year battle with cancer -Neuro Endocrine. This was a rare type but is now classed as lesser known. I also work for Cancer Research UK
The below story is my eleven years in full. This should hopefully explain the highs and lows during this time. This has been used by my local MP who has taken it forward to the health department to hopefully obtain a substantive response as to why the drug has been removed from the NICE list? My story

Palliative Care
At what stage should you initiate palliative care for someone who has stage 4 cirrhosis (end-stage)? Does the GP need to refer them for palliative care or can this be initiated yourself? Christmas Day chores
Hi all, taking time out to catch up with you all. My son has told me he wants a proper Christmas lunch/supper (35 going on 10) so I am preparing veggies, gravy and roasting a chuck (not turkey as only 2 of us). It is something I did not want to do but it is strangely relaxing there is no time schedule

The Long Goodbye
This is the title of one of my favourite novels. It also seems to be the way PSP works. A little more than 15 months after the final diagnosis, Bugs died at 6.30am yesterday. She had been in hospital since mid October. Firstly admitted because of urinary retention, then developed UTI. A CHC assessment
