Acute Morphine Treatments Alleviate Tremor
Morphine can be endogenously synthesized and can increase DA firing rate through disinhibition. In addition, upregulation of neuronal endogenous morphine-like compound immunoreactivity was found in human PD. These facts suggest morphine may have potential therapeutic relevance in PD treatment as dopaminergic

Please suggest someone the right dose of thiamine B1 for my mother, should I take in 100 mg or 500 mg.
suggest me the best dose of thiamine B1 powder or tab, my mother had parkinson's since 4 years and her condition is so worst, she can't do any movement by herself she is taking levodopa and cardivopa in 125 mg combination so please suggest me the right dose of thiamine medicine per day.

Who is active here who has Early Onset Parkinson's Disease?
I was formally diagnosted 2 years ago, at at 43. I have predominantly rigidity, bradykinesia, and reduced movement in my right arm, and several other symptoms besides. I haven't started taking medications yet. I'm concerned about the possibility of dyskinesia, which is more likely to occur when people

Abnormal skin sensation
Hi All I’m 71; have had PD for about 10 years; currently on C/L 25/100 faithfully every 4 hours for the past 2 years. Two days ago in the evening I noticed slight itching on my left lower shin. Thought it was an insect bite but there is no visible lesion. It resolved but came back again last night and

1st 3weeks on B1
Sorry Roy I'm sure I'm supposed to post this on Facebook I just don't use it. I'm very happy to report that the use of B1 has been very good for me I only wish I started earlier. I'm in my 11th year 7 years since diagnosis. Dr.C recommended one gram a day for two weeks and increase if all is well. Yesterday

The role of Cytochrome P450 enzyme inhibitors in herbal treatments of Parkinson's Disease
At least 6 Cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYP 450) degrade or metabolize L-Dopa, Azilect and Ropinirole, reducing their bioavalability and lifetime in the brain. They are highly present in the gut, the liver and some even in the brain. Conventional medications largely ignore their presence and action. Herbal

Extended Release Carbidopa Levodopa
Our mother takes Extended release
Carbidopa
Levodopa
at night time, 9 pm. She wakes up usually around 5 am, and rarely has movement issues. She gets her first dose of "regular" Caridopa Levodopa at 7 am, and every 4 hours thereafter.

LEVODOPA VERDICT: Start Early/Late = Same Outcomes
"Doctors often delay prescribing levodopa, or L-dopa, to Parkinson's patients for fear that the drug might have toxic effects that produce jerky involuntary body movements over time. "But patients started on L-dopa nearly a year earlier than a second group did not develop significantly different rates

Anyone experimenting with L-dopa and Carbidopa ratios?
For example C/L 25/100 is 25%
Carbidopa
to 100mg of
Levodopa
. I revved myself back up to a functioning human again by adding small doses of L[dopa (through Nutrivitashop). with my 25/100 pill(s). After a couple of months I was back on my guitar again.

Magnesium & C/L Constipation
I have always taken my magnesium citrate before bedtime for a consistent movement the AM. Now I've started taking C/L Levodopa at bedtime. I know if I take the Mag and CL together the CL will be diminished. I'm having trouble working the heavy intake of Mag into my daily routine/intake of CL/Other meds

2019: Will Medicare Cover Parkinson's ?
Here's where we stand as noted by Kirk Hall in his blog www.shakypawsgrampa.com. (Of course who knows what will happen over the next two years with the idiot in the Whitehouse backed by gutless members of the POT). Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a challenging condition as it is, but the fact that it is

Newly Approved: 'Inhaled Levodopa' for PD 'Off' Periods
"The newly approved Inbrija, which Acorda expects to become available to patients in the first quarter of 2019, helps quickly alleviate symptoms of tremor, slowness and stiffness. With long-term oral levodopa use and advancing disease, these aspects of the disease can re-emerge between medication doses

Dopaminergic agents: These drugs, including Sinemet -- a combination of
levodopa
and
carbidopa
-- increase the level of dopamine in the brain and may improve leg sensations in RLS. However, they may cause a worsening of symptoms for some people after daily use.

Is the levodopa in sinement any different then the levodopa in mucuna?
the
levodopa
crosses the blood brain barrier with inclusion of
carbidopa
and the
levodopa
in mucuna has nothing aiding this transfer thus less reaches the brain (unless you pair w/ Vitamin C, EGCG, Fish oil, etc)? is the synthetic worse then the natural?

Meds, Supplements and Vitamins . . . Yay or Nay
My husband, who is 53, was diagnosed 5 years ago with Parkinson's. He is a Stage 4 colon cancer survivor of 15 years. He was a soybean, rice and crawfish farmer until 2 years ago. Now he stays super busy, from sun-up to sundown, with the cattle and horses. He's in constant pain in his lower back . .
