Trying to find the best Mucuna Pruriens
I know there have been many discussions on this forum regarding the use of Mucuna Pruriens. My husband has been trying to figure out which brand and type may work best for him. I thought it would be a good idea for members who use Mucuna Pruriens to comment on the brand they use, type (powder or pill

Cerebrospinal fluid levels of thiamine in patients with Parkinson's disease. - levodopa effect.

Zandopa and Mucuna Pruriens
Hi all! I have a couple of questions for you all. My husband is 54 and was diagnosed with PD in 2015. He has tried a number of meds, but eventually found that Zandopa along with C/L worked best. However, Zandopa underwent a change several months ago and it stopped working for him like it used to.

Vivid Dreams/Sleepwalking
I’m wondering if the above discussion (See @Roborn1’s recent post) about too much
carbidopa
/
levodopa
applies here also? The vivid dreams is becoming far more than a nuisance - it’s becoming dangerous! Has anyone else experienced vivid dreams?

Sinemet - sleep problems
Started Sinemet 1/2/19. 3 x 12.5 / 50. Doubled it as instructed 3/3/19. Sleeping badly, feeling worried and low, can't taste food. Decided yesterday to go back to original dose, and hopefully bring in high dose thiamin. New to this forum. Have had brilliant advice from PwP who runs a website. She was

The Metabolism of L-Dopa - Are Cytochrome P450 enzymes being ignored?
This is my second paper on the subject of Cytochrome P450 enzymes in Parkinson's disease and represents a significant update on the first draft, following considerable research on recent published data and a refinement of the arguments and conclusions. It lays out where we are on the understanding of

Eliminating Sinemet
I'm 75 years old and was first diagnosed with PD by a neurologist about 15 years ago. At that time the only symptoms I remember having were that I sometimes stepped a little bit funny, and I didn't swing my arms when I walked. Anyway, the doc immediately prescribed 3 Sinemets per day, with which I complied

Inhaled levidopa to reduce “off” time episodes.
My awesome wife received a thank you letter from The Michael J. Fox Foundation after making a contribution. The letter described “INBRIJA”. Here’s a quote, “The FDA recently approved Inbrija, an inhaled levodopa powder, for patients who experience “off” episodes. This is the first Parkinson’s therapy

Mucana vs Sinemet
My husband was diagnosed five years ago with PD. He is 75. His biggest annoyance at this time is hallucinations. He takes Sinemet, 25/100 , 2 pills three times a day. We are aware and I follow this site, that it could be caused from his medication. We have attempted twice to reduce but can only get down

The journey of Levodopa inside the intestine.
It is the case of Tyrosine Decarboxylase which converts
Levodopa
in Dopamine despite the presence of
Carbidopa
wich is a decarboxylase inhibitor. Therefore I wonder if drinking a lot at the time of taking Levodopa may be some solution.

Too much Sinemet
First off, if you've seen one case of Parkinson's, you've seen one case of Parkinson's. In my wife's case, she experienced overdosing on Sinemet. She started by taking Mirapex when she was first diagnosed about 5 years ago. Even a small dosage was putting her to sleep for long periods of time. Her
